How to Crochet a Beautiful Cardigan with Lace Patterns

You'll Need

Used Patterns

Link: 6 chain sts, slip st, then crochet according to scheme 1.

Lace pattern 1: according to scheme 2, make 1st-7th rows once, then repeat 4th-7th rows.

Lace pattern 2: according to scheme 3.

Relief pattern: according to scheme 4.

Fringe: according to scheme 5.

Stitches Control

Link: 14 x 14 cm;

Lace pattern 1: 16 sts x 7 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Lace pattern 2: 15 sts x 6 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Relief pattern: 16 sts x 8 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

This cardigan is made with 2 threads of yarn. The arrows on the pattern design show the direction of work.

At first, make 6 links, connecting them in the stripe in the last row with the help of slip st. Then, crochet according to the lace pattern 1 along the long side of the stripe. After 7 rows, make back on 11 middle pattern repeats with lace pattern 1. In 13 rows from the beginning of the back, leave 4 central pattern repeats for the neck-hole and continue making the details separately.

Make the 4th row of the lace pattern 1 on the sts of the shoulder, make the next row according to the following description: 7 double crochets, 2 half-crochets, 3 single crochets from the neck-hole.

Make the second half in symmetry to the first one.

Then, make the left front on 5 pattern repeats according to the lace pattern 2. Leave 4 x 1/2 pattern repeat in every 2nd row from the left side for rounding.

Make shoulder chamfer in the same way as for back.

Make the right front in symmetry to the left.

For lower parts, you'll need to make 42 rows of lace pattern 2 along another side of the long stripe: make lower middle stripe on 2 middle links + 0.5 link from both sides + 1.5 links for side parts.

Sleeves

Make 39 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase, relief pattern.

For chamfers, increase 1 st x 5 in every row from both sides. In 7 rows of set-up row, decrease 6 sts for the cap from both sides and 1 st x 8 and 2 sts x 3 in each row.

Bottom: 18 rows along the set-up row with lace pattern 2.

Assembly

Sew shoulders. Sew the sleeves in arm-holes. Sew the sides along the upper part of the stripe and make sleeve seams.

Fasten the neck-hole and front with fringe. Sleeves and bottom part - with 1 row of single crochets.

Cord: 40 cm chain of chain sts, fasten 3 beads on each end. You'll need 6 such cords.

Straps: make 1.35 m and 40 cm chains of chain sts. Fasten 3 beads on each end of the short chain and 6 beads on long chains.
