Notes
- Ch 3 counts as the 1st stitch of the next round
- Ch 4 counts as dc, ch1
- Rounds are joined to the ch3 with a slip stitch
Pattern Instructions
RND 1: Ch 5, join in a circle or use a magic circle. Ch 3, counts as 1st dc, 9 dc in the magic circle, join to ch3 with a sl st, (10 dc)
RND 2: Ch 3, 2 dc in each dc around, join, (20 dc)
RND 3: Ch 3, 1 dc in the same st, *1 dc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st*, repeat from * to * around, join, (30 dc)
RND 4: Ch 3, 1 dc in the same st, *1 dc in the next 2 st, 2 dc in the next st*, repeat from * to * around, join, (40 dc)
RND 5: Ch 3, 1 dc in the same st, *1 dc in the next 3 st, 2 dc in the next st*, repeat from * to * around, join, (50 dc)
RND 6: 1 dc in each dc around, join, (50 dc)
RND 7: Ch 4, skip the next dc, *dc in the next st, ch 1, skip the next st*, repeat from * to * around, join, (50 sts)
RND 8: Ch 3, 1 dc in the 1st st, *1 dc in the ch 1 space, 1 dc in the next dc*, repeat from * to * around, join, (50 sts)
RND 9 - RND 14: Repeat RND 7 and 8, alternating the rounds. Ch 1 after RND 14.
If you want the beanie to be a slouchy beanie, just add a few more rounds of RND 7 and 8.
RND 15: 1 sc in each dc, join, ch 1 (50 sc)
RND 16: 1 sc in each st, join, ch 1 (50 sc)
RND 17: 1 sc in each st, join, and tie off, weave in ends (50 sc)
