You’ll Need:

50g of mélange Alpina Katrin yarn (100% cotton; 140m/50g);

Crochet hook 4.

Head Circumference:

50-52 cm.

Instructions

Start your work with the crown. Make 4 chain stitches and circle them in the ring, then work according to the scheme 1.

Crochet Rows

1st Row: 3 chain stitches increase, 11 double crochets.

Then, divide your work into 12 equal sectors based on the number of stitches from the 1st row.

2nd Row: 3 chain stitches increase, double crochet in the same base, 1 double crochet, *2 double crochets in 1 base stitch, 1 double crochet*; repeat from * to * for a total of 11 times;

3rd Row: 3 chain stitches increase, double crochet in the same base stitch, 1 double crochet, *2 double crochets, 2 double crochets in 1 base stitch*; repeat from * to * for a total of 11 times;

4th Row: 3 chain stitches increase, 1 double crochet, 1 double crochet, 2 double crochets in 1 base stitch, *2 double crochets, 2 double crochets in 1 base stitch*; repeat from * to * for a total of 11 times;

5th Row: 3 chain stitches increase, 2 double crochets in 1 base stitch, 3 double crochets, *2 double crochets in 1 base stitch, 3 double crochets*; repeat from * to * for a total of 11 times;

6th Row: 3 chain stitches increase, 2 double crochets, 2 double crochets in 1 base stitch, 2 double crochets, *2 double crochets, 2 double crochets in 1 base stitch, 2 double crochets*; repeat from * to * for a total of 11 times.

Then, continue working in the same way, replacing the increase for widening by adding 1 double crochet in relation to the previous row.

Completing the Beret

Crochet until the diameter of the circle reaches 20 cm (approximately 11 rows), then make 4 rows without increases. For narrowing, decrease 12 stitches in 1 circle row for narrowing, starting from the next row. In total, make 3 rows with decreases. Then, complete with 1 row of double crochets followed by 4 rows of single crochets without decreases. Fasten the beret around according to scheme 2.
