How to Knit a Stylish Tunic

Size
M-L
You'll Need
- 600 g of composite yarn (50% wool, 50% acrylic; 55m/50g) in olive or grey color
- Knitting needle size 6
- Crochet hook size 6
Stitches control: 13 sts and 19 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
The back and front of the tunic are knitted from bottom to top as a whole piece. Begin by casting on 195 sts with circular needles, then complete 101 rows of "braids" following the provided scheme.
Upon finishing the last row, you should have 130 sts remaining on the needles. Starting with the 102nd row, divide your work into two halves, allocating 65 sts for the back and 65 sts for the front. Transfer the 65 sts of the front to an auxiliary needle and set them aside for later. Proceed to knit the back, beginning from the 103rd row, and bind off sts from the edges 13 times, decreasing by 1 st each time. You will be left with 39 sts after these decreases. Complete the back at the 129th row, and bind off the last sts.
Knit the front in the same manner as the back. Once the back and front pieces are finished, gather the details and knit two straps. To create elegant straps, attach yarn to the selvedge row of the back and crochet stripes to your desired length, making holes for the fastener. Finally, secure the upper zone with single crochets and complete a row of "shrimp stitch."
