How to Knit a Stylish Cotton Top

You’ll Need:

300g of brown 100% cotton yarn in 2 threads;

Straight knitting needles 4.5 mm.

Size:

Size S. In order to make your top 1 size larger or smaller, you should increase or decrease by 2 cm in width and 1 cm in length.

Used Patterns:

Garter Stitch:

Knit.

Main Pattern:

The quantity of stitches is a multiple of 12.

Row Instructions:

1^st-6^th Rows: 2 knit stitches, *1 knit stitch, 1 yarn over, 4 knit stitches, purl 3 together, 4 knit stitches, 1 yarn over*; repeat from * to *, 3 knit stitches.

7^th-12^th Rows: 2 knit stitches, purl 2 together, *4 knit stitches, 1 yarn over, 1 knit stitch, 1 yarn over, 4 knit stitches, purl 3 together*; repeat from * to *, make the last 13 stitches of the row in the following way: 4 knit stitches, 1 yarn over, purl 2 together, 2 knit stitches.

Repeat 1^st-12^th rows.

Stitches Control:

19 stitches x 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

Back/Front:

Cast on 86 stitches and make 32 cm with garter stitch; then, work with the main pattern, increasing 1 x 15 stitches in the 1^st row and knit the first 2 and the last 2 stitches with garter stitch. In 52 cm from the set-up row, bind off all the stitches.

Assembly:

Make shoulder seams (for 13 cm from each side) and side seams.
