Complete Guide for Creating a Stylish Crochet Garment with Giava Yarn

You'll Need

650 (700) 750g of Giava yarn in grey color (71% viscose, 29% linen; 105m/50g);

Crochet hook size 4.

Sizes

Size: S (M) L.

Used Patterns

Relief pattern: the quantity of stitches is a multiple of 4 + 2. Work according to the scheme. Start every row with either 1 extra chain stitch increase or 3 chain stitches increase instead of the 1st double crochet.

Repeat the stitch pattern after the initial stitches and finish with stitches after the pattern repeat. Complete the 1st-7th rows once, then repeat the 2nd-7th rows.

Stitches Control: 17 stitches x 12.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back/Front

Make 82 (90) 98 chain stitches + 1 chain stitch increase and work with the relief pattern. After 30.5 cm = 38 rows from the set-up row, decrease 1 stitch from both sides for better fitting (work 2 stitches together) and then decrease 3 x 1 stitch in every 6th row = 74 (82) 90 stitches remaining. In 58.5 cm = 73 rows from the set-up row, decrease 8 stitches from both sides for armholes (use slip stitch above them at the beginning of the row, leaving them unfinished at the end) = 58 (66) 74 stitches remaining. At 72 cm = 90 rows (74.5 cm = 93 rows, 77 cm = 96 rows) from the set-up row, leave the central 36 stitches for the neck hole and finish both sides separately, making only single crochets (= repeat the 1st and 2nd or 2nd and 3rd rows of the pattern). Complete the work at a neck-hole height of 4 cm = 8 rows or at 76 cm = 98 rows (78.5 cm = 101 rows, 81 cm = 104 rows) from the set-up row, leaving 11 (15) 19 stitches of shoulder from each side.

Sleeves

Make 46 (54) 62 chain stitches + 1 chain stitch increase and work with the relief pattern. For sleeve chamfers, increase 2 stitches in every 4th row from both sides of the set-up row and 6 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row = 62 (70) 78 stitches, including the increased stitches in the pattern. Finish your work in 21 cm = 26 rows from the set-up row.

Assembly

Join the shoulder seams. Sew up the sleeves, then make side and sleeve seams. Fasten the neck hole with 1 circular row of single crochets followed by 1 circular row of “shrimp stitch.”
