Create a Stylish Crochet Hat with Easy-to-Follow Instructions and a Fun Color Palette

You Will Need:

100g of light-green, light-blue, and lilac colors yarn each (50% polyacryl, 50% cotton; 100m/100g);

Crochet hook size 7.

Colors Alternation:

* 1 selvedge stitch with lilac yarn, 1 stitch with light-green yarn, 1 stitch with light-blue yarn.* When changing color, make a slip stitch with another color yarn.

Instructions

Start making your hat from the upper part.

Make 4 chain stitches with lilac yarn and circle them in a ring by means of a slip stitch in the 1st chain stitch, then continue work with selvedge stitch and alternate the stripes.

Rows Instructions:

1st Row: 1 chain stitch increase, 1 chain stitch, 7 x (1 single crochet, 1 chain stitch) in a ring = 16 stitches, slip stitch in the 1st single crochet;

2nd Row: 2 chain stitches increase, * 2 x (1 single crochet, 1 chain stitch) in the next chain stitch of the previous row, (1 single crochet, 1 chain stitch) in the next chain stitch of the previous row*; repeat from * to * 3 times = 24 stitches. Finish this and all the following rows with 1 slip stitch in the 1st chain stitch increase;

3rd Row: 2 chain stitches increase, (1 single crochet, 1 chain stitch) x 12 times in the chain stitch of the previous row, starting from the 2nd chain stitch increase and finishing with the chain stitch before the last single crochet;

4th Row: 2 chain stitches increase, (1 single crochet, 1 chain stitch) x 12 times in the chain stitch of the previous row, starting from the chain stitch after the 1st single crochet and finishing with the chain stitch before the last single crochet;

5th Row: as 2nd row, but make increases from * to * 6 times = 36 stitches;

6th-7th Rows: (1 single crochet, 1 chain stitch) x 18 times in the chain stitch of the previous row;

8th Row: as 2nd row, but make increases from * to * 9 times = 54 stitches;

9th-12th Rows: (1 single crochet, 1 chain stitch) x 27 times in the chain stitch of the previous row;

13th Row: as 2nd row, but make increases from * to * 6 times in every 4 chain stitches = 66 stitches;

14th-29th Rows: (1 single crochet, 1 chain stitch) x 33 times in the chain stitch of the previous row.

Change the yarn to light-green color.

30th Row: 1 chain stitch increase, 1 single crochet in every chain stitch of the previous row (very loosely). Finish with the help of slip stitch in the 1st single crochet = 33 stitches.

Now your hat should be turned to the wrong side.

31st-32nd Rows: 1 chain stitch instead of 1 single crochet, 1 single crochet in every single crochet of the previous row. Finish each row with slip stitch in the 1st single crochet.

Assembly

Cut the yarn and fasten it on the wrong side of your work.
