Complete Guide to Crafting with Dark-Brown and Orange Yarn: Patterns, Instructions, and Tips

You’ll Need

125g of dark-brown yarn (70% mohair, 30% silk; 210m/25g);

50g of orange yarn (70% mohair, 30% silk; 420m/50g);

50g of the same yarn, but in coral color;

Crochet hook 3.5.

Used Patterns

Main Pattern

The quantity of stitches is multiple of 5 + 2. Work according to scheme 1. Start with stitches before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, make 1st-3rd rows once, then repeat 2nd-3rd rows.

Picot Edge

The quantity of stitches is multiple of 20 + 1. Work in the same manner as the main pattern, but according to scheme 2. Make 1st-5th rows once and then repeat the 4th-5th rows.

Stitches Control

Main pattern: 26 stitches x 10 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Picot pattern: 28.5 stitches x 7.75 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

First, make 92 chain stitches + 3 chain stitches increase and work with the main pattern using dark-brown yarn for the left front. After 53 cm from the set-up row, the shoulder line is reached. At 59 cm from the set-up row, leave your work. Create the right front in the same manner.

For the back, work on both details as one-piece cloth; for this, make the same stitches together in the 1st row. After 47 cm from the connection of work or in 106 cm from the set-up row, finish your work.

For the back picot border, make 201 chain stitches with orange yarn. For front picot borders, make 101 chain stitches + 3 chain stitches increase and work with the picot pattern. At 15.5 cm = 12 rows from the set-up row, continue work with orange-coral yarn. At 31 cm = 24 rows from the set-up row, finish your work.

Assembly

Sew the picot border with the tops of the set-up row to the lower edges of the front and back pieces. For the strap, make 3 chain stitches + 3 chain stitches increase and work with double crochets, starting every row with 3 chain stitches instead of the 1st double crochet. Finish your work at 180 cm.

Picots are  loops of thread/yarn...usually made with chain stitches… and are then often surrounded by more stitches. I don't see any looped trim.
