You’ll Need:

150 (200) 200g of burgundy yarn (70% alpaca, 30% polyamide; 225m/50g);

100 (150) 150g of the same yarn, but in grey color;

Crochet hook 4.5;

Knitting needles 4.5;

5 buttons (diameter is about 28 mm).

Size:

S (M) L.

Used Patterns

Main Pattern:

The quantity of sts is multiple of 4 + 3. Work according to the scheme.

Start with sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, and finish with sts after pattern repeat. Make the 1st-6th rows once, then repeat the 3rd-6th rows.

Rib:

Start with 1 WS row: 1 selvage st, *1 purl, 2 knit sts, 1 purl*; repeat from * to *, 1 selvage st. Make RS row as sts face.

Stitches Control:

14.5 sts x 8.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back:

Make 67 (75) 83 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase with burgundy yarn and work with the main pattern. In 66 cm = 56 rows, bind off the central 25 (27) 29 sts for neck-hole and finish both sides separately. In 67 cm = 57 rows from the set-up row, finish your work on 21 (24) 27 sts.

Left Front:

Make 31 (35) 39 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase with burgundy yarn and work with the main pattern. In 60 cm = 51 rows from the set-up row, decrease 1 x 6 sts along the left side for neck-hole and bind off 1 x 3 (4) 4 sts and 1 x 1 (1) 2 sts in every row; for this, bind off sts at the beginning of the row, and make slip sts at the end of the row. Finish your work on the remaining 21 (24) 27 sts of shoulder at the height of back.

Right Front:

Make in the same way as the left front but in reflection.

Assembly:

Make shoulder seams. Cast on 20 (22) 24 cm with circular knitting needles, including shoulder seams, 58 (66) 74 sts and make 3 cm of rib for arm-hole placket. Then, bind off sts as they face. Cast on 34 (38) 42 sts along the lower edges of front and 74 (82) 90 sts along the edge of back; for placket, work on all 142 (158) 174 sts and make 4 cm of rib. Then, bind off sts as they face. Cast on 86 sts along sides of front and short edges of placket with circular knitting needles and work with rib for plackets. Make 5 button-holes in the placket of the right front. Cast on 70 sts from inwards along edge of neck-hole and along half of short placket sides with circular knitting needles and burgundy yarn, making 8.5 cm of rib for collar. Bind off sts, and sew buttons.
