Complete Guide to Crocheting a Baby Dress and Hat for 9-12 Months

You’ll Need:

150g of white 100% cotton yarn (392m/100g);

Crochet hook 1.2.

Size:

9-12 months.

Instructions

Dress

Start your work from the upper part and crochet from up to down. Make 162 chain stitches (the length of chain is about 50 cm), circle them in the ring. Make 9 circle rows of double crochets.

Make every 2nd crochet as 2 double crochets in the 10th row. After that, work with double crochets for 17 cm more, then make fringe according to the scheme. Fold the detail in half, marking the back and front. Leave 8 cm from both sides in the center of the front, then make marks. Make 1 row of double crochets between the marks. Work with double crochets from both sides of the marks for 3 cm wide (= 10 double crochets) and 20 cm long. Start making decreases of 1 stitch in every row from inwards at 18 cm height of the strap. Then, leave 7.5 cm from both sides of the center of the back and make marks. Make 1 row of double crochets between the marks. Make straps in the same way as for the front, making decreases from one side. Fasten the neck-hole and edges of straps with 1 row of single crochets.

Hat

Start from the crown.

1st row: make 7 chain stitches and circle them in the ring;

2nd row: 14 single crochets in the center of the ring;

3rd row: make 3 double crochets in every 2nd crochet.

Continue work this way for 3 rows, making 3 double crochets in the center of increases (in every 2nd crochet out of 3) of the previous row. As a result, you should get 6 sectors. Then, increase 2 double crochets until the width of the hat is 15 cm. After that, crochet around without increases for 8 rows = 4 cm. Make fringe according to the scheme.
