Crochet Baby Vest and Hat Pattern for 18-24 Months

You’ll Need:

70g of yellow Cotton Gold (55% cotton, 45% acrylic; 330m/100g);

Odds of white, light-blue and green colors;

Crochet hook 3;

4 buttons.

Stitches Control:

20 sts x 10 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Vest

Front and Back

Make 112 chain sts and make 7 pattern repeats due to the scheme 1, alternating the colors of yarn in the following way:

• 1^st-4^th rows: yellow yarn;
• 5^th-6^th rows: white yarn.

At 20 cm height, divide your work as follows: right front – 1.5 pattern repeats, arm-hole – 0.5 pattern repeat, back – 3 pattern repeats, arm-hole – 0.5 pattern repeat, left front – 1.5 pattern repeat. Then, make front and back separately.

Back

Crochet straight. At 32 cm height from the beginning of work, leave the central 16 sts (1 pattern repeat) open. Then, finish each part separately. At 33 cm height, finish your work.

Right Front

Crochet straight. At 26 cm height from the beginning of work, leave the central 16 sts (1 pattern repeat) open for the neck-hole and then crochet straight. At 33 cm height, finish your work.

Left Front

Make in symmetry to the right front.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. Fasten the plackets of the front with 3 rows of single crochets. Fasten neck-hole and arm-holes with single crochets, alternating the colors in the following way:

• 1 row – yellow yarn,
• 1 row – white yarn,
• 1 row – yellow yarn.

Sew buttons. For the applique, make a flower according to scheme 2 and a petal according to scheme 3. For the stem, make 30 chain sts and 1 row of single crochets. Sew the applique to the left front as shown in the photo.

Hat

Start your work with yellow yarn. For the bottom, make 6 chain sts and circle them in the ring, then work according to scheme 4. Make sides according to scheme 5, alternating the colors of yarn: *2 yellow rows, 1 white row*; repeat from * to *. At 15 cm depth of the hat, finish your work. Fasten the bottom according to scheme 6. For the applique, make a flower according to scheme 2, as shown in the photo.
