Main Pattern:

Working with double crochets. Start every row with 3 chain stitches as increase instead of the 1^st double crochet and finish with 1 double crochet in the last chain stitch increase of the previous row.

Cable Pattern:

The quantity of stitches is multiple 9 + 6. Work according to the scheme. Start with 1 WS row. Repeat the pattern and finish with stitches before the arrow. Make the 1^st-5^th rows once, then repeat the 2^nd-5^th rows. Use treble crochets instead of triple crochets.

Stitches Control:

Main pattern: 19.5 sts x 10 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Cable pattern (on 42 sts): 20 cm wide.

Instructions:

Make 81 (90) chain stitches and circle them in the ring with 1 slip stitch. Continue working with the cable pattern in circular rows, making relief double crochets and relief treble crochets behind the front loop and repeating the pattern. Start every circular row with 3 chain stitches as increase instead of the 1^st double crochet and finish with 1 slip stitch in the last chain stitch increase. For better shaping, in 21 cm = 21 circle rows from the set-up row, make 2 double crochets together between cables = 72 (80) sts. Repeat these decreases in the next circular row = 63 (70) sts.

Make both the first and last double crochets of the cable pattern together in the next circular row. Make 1 circular row on the remaining 45 (50) sts and 1 circular row of half crochets, making 2 stitches together. Draw working yarn through the remaining 12 (13) sts, tighten stitches, and fasten off. Sew the pompom to the hat.
