450 (500)g of yellow yarn (100% cotton; 80m/50g);

Knitting needles 4.5 and 5;

Circular knitting needles 4.5.

Used Patterns

Rib Pattern

The quantity of stitches is odd. Start and finish every row with 1 selvage stitch. RS rows: *1 knit stitch, 1 purl*; WS rows: as stitches face; circle rows: *1 knit stitch, 1 purl*.

Relief Wavy Pattern

The quantity of stitches is multiple of 17 + 2 selvage stitches. Work according to the scheme, which states RS and WS rows. Start with 1 selvage stitch, pattern repeat, and finish with 1 selvage stitch. Make 1st-12th rows once, then repeat 1st-12th rows, followed by repeating 3rd-12th rows.

Stitches Control

  • Relief wavy pattern: 23 stitches x 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
  • Rib: 24 stitches x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 104 (121) stitches with knitting needles 4.5 and make 7 cm with rib for the placket. Continue work with relief wavy pattern using knitting needles 5. In 35.5 cm = 82 rows (31.5 cm = 72 rows) from the placket, bind off 1 x 3 stitches from both sides for armholes. Then, bind off 3 x 2 stitches and 1 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row = 84 (101) stitches. In 44.5 cm = 102 rows from the placket, bind off the central 20 (31) stitches for the neck-hole and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 2 x 4 stitches, 5 x 3 stitches, and 3 x 2 stitches in every 2nd row. In 54 cm = 124 rows from the placket, bind off the rest 3 (6) stitches.

Front

Make in the same way as back, but with a deeper neck-hole. In 37.5 cm = 86 rows from the placket, bind off the central 12 (23) stitches, then bind off 1 x 4 stitches, 1 x 3 stitches, 5 x 2 stitches in every 2nd row, *1 x 1 stitch, 1 x 2 stitches*; repeat from * to * x 4 times, then bind off 1 x 1 stitch.

Sleeves

Cast on 68 (86) stitches for each sleeve with knitting needles 4.5 and work with rib pattern. In 1 cm = 2 rows from the set-up row, bind off 1 x 3 (4) stitches from both sides for sleeve caps. Then, bind off 3 x 2 stitches in every 2nd row, *1 x 1 stitch and 1 x 2 stitches*; repeat from * to * x twice, then bind off 1 x 3 stitches and 1 x 5 stitches (1 x 3 stitches, 8 x 2 stitches, 1 x 3 stitches, and 1 x 5 stitches in every 2nd row). In 10 cm = 26 rows from the set-up row, bind off the remaining 16 (24) stitches.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. Cast on 180 (200) stitches along the neck-hole and mark 2 stitches at the level of shoulder seams. Then, work with rib pattern between these 4 shoulder stitches (= 2 stitches for each shoulder) and work with rib. At the same time, make the 1st marked stitch together with the previous knit stitch in every circle row and make the 2nd marked stitch together with the next knit stitch as broaching. Finally, make side and sleeve seams.
