How to Knit a Beautiful Ruffled Skirt

You’ll Need:
13 (14) 15 skeins of black 100% wool yarn (100m/50g);
Circular knitting needles 3 and 3.5 in 60 cm and 80 cm lengths;
Crochet hook 2.5 and 3;
Elastic lace 30 mm wide.
Size:
S/M (M/L) L/XL.
Hips circumference: 92 (100) 106 cm;
Length: 43 (45) 47 cm.
Stitches Control:
22 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Note:
The pattern is replaced with 8-9 single crochets in every ruffle.
Instructions:
Start from the lower edge. Cast on 204 (221) 238 sts and make 2 circle rows of purls. Then, *22 (24) 26 rows of stockinette stitch, 2 rows of purls*; repeat from * to *. When you have made 2 rows of purls x 4 times (for 4 ruffles), complete the rest of the skirt with stockinette stitch, making decreases in the following way:
- 24 (26) 28 sts from the beginning of the row,
- Slip 1 st, 1 knit st, draw the slipped st through the knit st, marker, knit 2 together,
- 46 (50) 55 knit sts, 1 slip st, 1 knit st, draw the slipped st through the knit st,
- Marker, knit 2 together,
- 48 (53) 56 knit sts, 1 slip st, 1 knit st, draw the slipped st through the knit st,
- Knit 2 together, 46 (50) 55 sts, 1 slip st, 1 knit st, draw the slipped st through the knit st,
- Marker, knit 2 together, 24 (26) 28 knit sts.
Make 6 rows without decreases, then repeat decreases from both sides of the markers = every row with decreases has 8 sts fewer. Knit 6 rows straight, then repeat decreases again. Knit the next 3 rows and repeat decreases. Knit 3 more rows and repeat decreases = there are 164 (181) 198 sts left on the knitting needles. Knit 3 more rows, change to circular knitting needles size 3, and make 3 cm of stockinette stitch, 1 row of purls, and 3 cm of stockinette stitch, then bind off sts.
Ruffles:
Crochet around with crochet hook 3 on sts of every out of 4 stripes. For each ruffle, make 1 row of single crochets = 1 single crochet in every st, catching sts of both rows of stripes in pairs and continue working according to the scheme. Fold the upper edge to the upper stripe to the WS and sew = self-belt. Insert elastic lace in the self-belt.
