A Complete Guide to Crocheting a Stylish Garment with Brown Giava Yarn and Vintage Details

You’ll Need

150 (200) 200g of brown Giava yarn (71% viscose, 29% linen; 110m/50g);

100 (150) 150g of the same yarn, but in beige, mint and pink colors (each);

50g of beige Vintage yarn (100% cotton; 55m/50g);

Crochet hook 4.

Size: S (M) L.

Used Patterns

Main pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 8 + 3 chain sts instead of the 1st double crochet.

Make 1st-3rd rows x once, then, repeat 2nd and 3rd rows.

Stripes order: 8 brown rows, * 7 beige rows, 7 mint rows, 7 pink rows, 7 brown rows*; repeat from * to * x twice, finish with 7 beige rows, 7 mint rows, 7 pink rows and 8 brown rows = totally, 121 rows. For ruffle, strengthen Vintage yarn in width and catch it in every 1st row when changing color of yarn in order for it to be only seen on RS.

Stitches Control: 25.5 sts x 7.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Note: work as one-piece cloth, start with left sleeve.

Instructions

Make 64 (72) 80 chain sts with brown yarn and 3 chain sts increase instead of the 1st double crochet and work with the main pattern according to the stripes order. At the same time, increase 8 x 1 st in every 4th row from both sides for chamfers and include these sts in the pattern = 80 (88) 96 sts.

In 52 cm = 39 rows (50.5 cm = 38 rows) 49 cm = 37 rows from the set-up row, increase 1 x 16 chain sts from both sides for side edges, include the increased sts in the pattern = 112 (120) 128 sts. In 80.5 cm = in the 61st row, the center of back is reached. After that, finish this detail in symmetry, making decreases instead of increases. In 161 cm = 121 rows from the set-up row, finish your work.

Assembly

Make side and lower edge of sleeves seams. Fasten the lower edge with 1 circle row of single crochets with brown yarn, catching Vintage yarn for ruffle. Fasten the edges of sleeves in the same way.
