How to Crochet a Stunning Shawl with Novita Nalle Yarn

You’ll Need:

300g of mélange Novita Nalle Taika yarn (75% wool, 25% polyamide; 260m/100g);

100g of white mélange Novita Nalle yarn (75% wool, 25% polyamide; 260m/100g);

Crochet hook 3.5-4.

Size:

150 x 70 cm.

Stitches Control:

Width of central part of shawl = 13 cm, 10 rows = 12.5 cm.

Instructions

Central Part

Make 29 chain sts and work with a relief pattern according to scheme 1 in the following way:

1^st row: 2 double crochets in the 3^rd chain st from the crochet hook, skip 2 sts of the initial chain, 1 single crochet in the next st, 5 chain sts, skip 5 sts of set-up chain, 1 single crochet in the next st, *skip 2 sts of initial chain, 5 double crochets in the next st, skip 2 sts of set-up chain, 1 single crochet in the next st, 5 chain sts, skip 5 sts of set-up chain, 1 single crochet in the next st*; repeat from * to * x once, skip 2 sts of set-up chain, 3 double crochets in the last st.

Continue work according to scheme 1 from the 2^nd row. Repeat 2^nd-5^th rows x 21 times, after that, make 2^nd-3^rd rows x once. The height of the central part is about 70 cm. Don’t cut the yarn.

Right Side Part

Continue work along the long side of the central part according to scheme 2. Make double crochets in the 1^st row in order to achieve 6 double crochets every 4 rows. Increase 8 double crochets = 141 sts. Continue work according to scheme 2 from the 2^nd row, making decreases in every row from the left side, as it’s shown on the scheme, until 1 square is left (3 crochets). Cut the yarn.

Left Side Part

Join the yarn to the left long edge of the central part and work in symmetry to the right side. When there is 1 square left (3 sts), don’t cut the yarn, make 1 row of single crochets along the edge of the shawl. Then, cut the yarn.

Assembly

For fringe, cut the yarn to threads of 45 cm long, connect in 6 threads, and fold in half. Make tassels every 3 cm along the short edges of the shawl.
