Knitting Instructions for a Stylish Sweater

500g of mélange yarn (70% mohair, 30% acryl; 190m/100g);

150g of black yarn (28% metallic, 72% polyester; 250m/100g);

Back

Cast on 78 sts with black yarn and make 10 cm of garter stitch. After that, work with mélange yarn using stockinette stitch.

Front

Make in the same way as back, but with a V-shaped neck-hole. For this, divide sts in half at the same time with the beginning of arm-holes and finish each side separately. For neck-hole chamfer, decrease 19 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from inwards. Bind off the rest sts of shoulder at the height of back. Finish the other side of the neck-hole in symmetry.

Sleeves

Cast on 38 sts with black yarn and make 10 cm of garter stitch. After that, work with mélange yarn using stockinette stitch, increase 1 st in every 6^th row from both sides for sleeve chamfers. In 30 rows from the beginning of stockinette stitch, bind off 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts, 11 x 1 st, 1 x 2 sts, 1 x 3 sts from both sides for sleeve caps. Bind off the rest 6 sts of sleeves.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. Cast on sts along neck-hole with circular knitting needles and black yarn and work around with garter stitch. Make knit3tog in every 2^nd row in the center of the neck-hole. At 3 cm height of placket, bind off the sts of back, make the rest sts with straight and reversed rows for 3 cm. Bind off sts. Fold the placket inwards and sew. Sew up the sleeves and make side and sleeve seams.
