Easy Crochet Dress and Hat Instructions for Kids

You’ll Need

50g of light-blue yarn (50% cotton, 50% viscose; 375m/75g);

50g of the same yarn, but in green color;

50g of the same yarn, but in yellow color;

50g of the same yarn, but in orange color;

50g of the same yarn, but in pink color;

Crochet hook 2.

Size: 5-6 years.

Dress

Alternate the colors of yarn every 2 rows up to your liking.

At first, make the skirt from up to down. For this, make 250 chain stitches and work according to the scheme for 25 cm. Add a picot of 3 chain stitches in the last row. Make 2 rows of double crochets along the upper part of the skirt. Then, make the upper part of the dress. For the neck-hole, don’t finish 1 festoon of the pattern in the center of the back, and then, don’t finish ½ festoon with every color change. Stop making decreases at armholes, make the front part of the dress, and add a picot of 3 chain stitches in the last row.

Assembly

Fasten the back neck-hole and the upper part of the front with 1 row of single crochets and 1 row of “shrimp stitch”. For straps, make 6 cords of 50 stitches each, fasten them with 2 rows of single crochets. Connect with 3 cords, make an extra 70 chain stitches and fasten them with 1 row of single crochets and 2 rows according to the scheme. Sew the straps.

Hat

You’ll need:

30g of white CoCo yarn (100% cotton; 240m/50g);

Odds of light-blue, orange, and yellow colors;

Knitting needles 3;

Crochet hook 2.5.

Instructions

Make a chain with white yarn and circle it into a ring. Make 16 double crochets in the center of the ring and work according to the scheme 1. After the 10^th row, crochet and repeat the 9^th-10^th rows to the 24^th row total height. Make 3 flowers according to scheme 2 from colorful yarn and sew them to the hat.
