Crochet Hat and Flower Pattern for Kids

You’ll Need:

1 ball of Patons® Canadiana™ yarn (100 g/3.5 oz; 187 m/205 yds) in Pale Teal (10743) (main color MC);

1 ball of the same yarn, but in Crantini (10522) (contrast A) color;

Crochet hook 5 mm.

Size:

2/4 (6/8-10/12) years.

Stitches Control:

14 sts x 17 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Note:

Ch 3 at the beginning of the round counts as dc throughout.

Instructions

Hat

With MC and leaving a long tail, ch 33 (42-48). Join with sl st to the first ch to form a ring, taking care not to twist ch. (See Diagram 1)

1st rnd: Ch 4 (counts as dc and ch 1). 1 dc in the same space as the last sl st. Miss the next 2 ch. *(1 dc. Ch 1. 1 dc) in the next ch. Miss the next 2 ch. Rep from * 9 (12-14) times more. Join with sl st to the 3rd ch of ch 4. 11 (14-16) V-sts.

2nd rnd: Sl st in the first ch-1 space. Ch 3. (1 dc. Ch 2. 2 dc) in the same space as the last sl st. Miss the next 2 dc. *(2 dc. Ch 2. 2 dc) in the next ch-1 space. Miss the next 2 dc. Rep from * 9 (12-14) times more. Join with sl st to the top of ch 3.

Sizes 6/8 and 10/12 Only
