Pattern
RND 1: Ch 13, dc in the 4th ch, and in each ch across, 2 dc in the last ch, (12 dc). Turn working down the opposite side of the ch, 1 dc in each ch across, 2 dc in the last ch, join to the ch3 with a slst, ch 1 (12 + 12 = 24 dc).
RND 2: 1 sc in each dc around, join to the 1st sc with a slst, ch 1 (24 sc).
RND 3: 1 sc in each sc around, join to the 1st sc with a slst, ch 3 (24 sc).
RND 4: 1 dc in each dc around, join to the ch3 with a slst, ch 1 (24 dc).
RND 5: 1 sc in each dc around, join to the 1st sc with a slst, ch 1 (24 sc).
RND 6: 1 sc in each sc around, join to the 1st sc with a slst, ch 3 (24 sc).
RND 7 - RND 18: Repeat RND 4 – RND 6 for 4 more times.
RND 19: Single crochet in the 1st 18 sc, ch 12, slst in the 5th ch from the hook, slst in each of the remaining chs (to form the button loop). Sc in the last 6 sc, join to the 1st sc with a slst, tie off and weave in your ends. Line up and sew the button in place with needle and matching yarn.
Place the ring on the top edge of the case, either side, whichever is your preference, sew in place with needle and matching yarn.
The chain can be sewn to each side of the bag, or attached to rings that are sewn on. The length of the chain is up to you; it can be a short handle or wristlet, or a long shoulder bag.
If you prefer to crochet your strap, ch 100 chs, slst in the 2nd ch from the hook, slst back down the chain. Again, the length is up to you. Sew it in place or add the 2 rings and slide it through the rings.
