1st-25th rows: Alternate each ST across the row with a SL ST then a HDC ending on an HDC, CH 1 & turn (12).

Edging

After completing row 25, CH 1 and SC around the entire piece, top bottom and sides, remembering to do 3 SC in each corner (total ST 78)

Tie off and cut

Back

CH 12 + 1 to turn and work 1st ST in to the 2nd CH from the hook

1st-30th rows: Alternate each ST across the row with a SL ST then a HDC ending on an HDC, CH 1 & turn (12)

Assembly

Put the 2 pieces together with the right sides out (wrong sides in together on the inside) and the longer piece in the back

Find your bottom left corner (the middle SC in the corner of the 3 SC) and start from here, joining your piece of yarn to edge/join the pieces

SC in each stitch around to join the 2 pieces – when you get to the end of where the 2 join, continue SC’ing across the longer part of the back piece to ST 6 of the top, where you will CH 5 and join back in to ST 7 to make your button hole, continue SC’ing until you come around the other side and continue to join the 2 pieces together on the other side

Tie off and weave in ends

Attach/sew on button in the appropriate spot (mine is attached at approx. Row 7 from the top, not including the edging row.
