Quick and Easy Crochet Pattern

This is a quick and easy pattern to follow. I whipped up one of these little gals in just a few hours. I used satin finish yarn (but really any yarn that is not chunky or worsted weight should work) plus I used a 3.25 hook.

Pattern Abbreviations

  • ch~chain
  • sc~single crochet
  • hdc~half double crochet
  • dc~double crochet
  • sl st~slip stitch
  • sk st~skip stitch
  • invdec~invisible decrease
  • fo~fasten off

Leg (Make 2)

  1. Ch2
  2. 7sc in second ch from hook
  3. 2sc in each sc around
  4. Do 25 sc around
  5. Sc, sc, sc, dec (x8)
  6. Do 120sc around
  7. Fo and leave a long tail to attach the leg to the body of your doll later.

Arm (Make 2)

  1. Ch2
  2. 6sc in second ch from hook
  3. Do 110 sc around
  4. Fo and leave a long tail to attach the arm to the body of your doll later.

Head & Body

  1. Ch2
  2. 7sc in second ch from hook
  3. 2sc in each st around, then place on a stitch marker and move up every rd for the rest of the pattern
  4. Sc, 2sc in next stitch around
  5. Sc, sc, 2sc in next stitch around
  6. Sc, sc, sc, 2sc in next stitch around
  7. Then do 3 rounds of sc around
  8. Sc, sc, sc, dec around
  9. Sc around

  12. Attach eyes and embroider mouth at this point

  15. Sc to center of the back of your ami, then switch to the colour of your choice for the top.

  17. Sc, 2sc in next stitch
  18. Do 2 rounds of sc around
  19. Sc, sc, sc, 2sc in each st (around) then sc in last 2 stitches
  20. Do 2 rounds of sc around
  21. Sc, sc, sc, sc, sc, sc, 2sc in next st, sc in last st
  22. Sc around

  24. Do 2 rounds of sc around
  25. Sc to the middle of the back of your ami, then switch to the colour of your choice for the skirt
  26. Do 2 rounds of sc around

  29. Sc, sc, sc, dec around, sl st in last st, leave a long tail to sew your doll closed.

Final Touches

Stuff your doll with fiber filling and then hold the doll in front of you and close the bottom of the doll flat across. Then sew through both the front and back this will close the doll and make a nice seam. Attach limbs, add hair, and decorate. You might consider adding a ruffle to her skirt, a scarf, or a turtleneck!
