Special Stitches

Front Post Double Crochet (FPDC) – Yarn over, insert your hook from front to back to front around the post of the stitch indicated, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops on your hook, yarn over, pull through remaining two loops on your hook.

V – Stitch (v-st) – [1dc, ch 1, 1 dc] in indicated space

For the purpose of making the stitch sample, chain 30 (multiple is 5)

Crochet Instructions

Row 1: (set up row) 2 dc in 6th ch from hook, ch 1, 2 dc in next ch, * skip 3 ch, 2 dc in next ch, ch 1, 2 dc in next ch; rep from * across until 3 ch remain, 1 dc in last ch, turn.

Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as 1 dc), skip next dc, * FPDC (see special stitches) around next dc, v-st (see special stitches) in next ch-1 sp, FPDC around next dc, skip 2 dc; rep from * across, ending with skip next dc, 1 dc on top of beg ch, turn.

Row 3: Ch 2 (counts as 1 dc), * skip next dc, FPDC around next dc, v-st in next ch-1 sp, FPDC around next dc, skip 2 dc; rep from * across, ending with skip next dc, 1 dc on top of beg ch 2, turn.

Repeat row 3 for pattern.
