Knitting Instructions for a Stylish Sweater Using Novita Puro Batik Yarn

You’ll Need:

350 (400) 450g of sectional coloring (# 826) Novita Puro Batik yarn (100% wool; 100m/50g);

Knitting needles size 4 and 4.5;

1 button.

Size:

XS-S (M) L.

Chest circumference: 74 (82) 90 cm;

Length: 59 (62) 65 cm.

Used Patterns:

• 1 x 1 rib;
• Relief pattern: according to the scheme.

Stitches Control:

14 stitches of relief pattern with knitting needles size 4.5 = 10 cm.

Instructions:

Make as one-piece cloth.

Left Front:

Cast on 31 (35) 39 stitches with knitting needles size 4 and work with 1 x 1 rib, starting with 1 knit stitch and a WS row. At 12 cm height, increase 12 (14) 16 stitches in the next RS row as follows: 6 stitches of 1 x 1 rib, then make 2 knit stitches from every next stitch (= make every stitch at first through back, then through front loop) = 43 (49) 55 stitches. Make the next WS row with purls.

Then, change to knitting needles size 4.5 and work with the relief pattern as follows: 1 stitch before pattern repeat, repeat 2 stitches of pattern repeat x 18 (21) 24 times, and finish with 6 stitches of 1 x 1 rib (placket). Repeat the 1^st-4^th rows of relief pattern. At 21 (22) 23 cm height, increase 6 stitches at the end of RS row for arm-hole = 49 (55) 61 stitches, making these stitches with 1 x 1 rib. At 38 (40) 42 cm height of arm-hole, after making the WS row, leave the stitches.

Right Front:

Make in symmetry to the left front, but create a button-loop in the 1^st row of relief pattern from the right side as follows: 4 knit stitches, 1 yarn over, knit 2 together, then, follow the stitches facing in RS row from inwards.

Back:

Knit 49 (55) 61 stitches of right front, cast on 17 stitches for neck-hole, and knit 49 (55) 61 stitches of left front = 115 (127) 139 stitches. Continue making stitches according to the pattern, making the central 29 stitches with 2 x 2 rib for 2 cm. Decrease 1 stitch in the center of the 1^st row = 114 (126) 138 stitches. Then, knit all the stitches with relief pattern, except for edging 6 stitches from both sides, and continue working with 1 x 1 rib.

At 76 (80) 84 cm height of arm-hole, bind off 6 stitches from both sides = 102 (114) 126 stitches. Then, work all the stitches with relief pattern for 9 (10) 11 cm, decreasing 23 (26) 29 stitches in the next RS row = 79 (88) 97 stitches. After that, change to knitting needles size 4 and make 12 cm of 1 x 1 rib. Bind off the stitches as they face.

Assembly:

Make side seams. Sew on the button.
