You’ll need:

550g of white Mondial Merino Special yarn (50% wool, 50% acryl; 79m/50g);

Straight knitting needles 4 and 5;

5 buttons;

Tapestry needle.

Size: S.

Used Patterns

Double rib: cast on the half of the needed quantity of sts with contrast yarn; 1st row: working yarn * 1 knit st, 1 yarn over*; repeat from * to *;

2nd row: * yarn over as knit st, slip 1 purl without knitting, yarn in front of work*; repeat from * to *;

3rd and all the following rows: * 1 knit st, slip 1 purl, yarn on front of work*; repeat from * to *, take off the contrast yarn.

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls;

Garter stitch: in RS and WS rows – knit sts;

2 x 2 rib;

Main pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 15): 1st row: 1 knit st, 1 yarn over, 2 knit sts, 3 purls, purl3tog, 3 purls, 2 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 1 knit st;

2nd and all the even rows: due to the pattern, yarn overs – as purls;

3rd row: 2 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 2 knit sts, 2 purls, purl3tog, 2 purls, 2 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 2 knit sts;

5th row: 3 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 2 knit sts, 1 purl, purl3tog, 1 purl, 2 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 3 knit sts;

7th row: 4 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 2 knit sts, purl3tog, 2 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 4 knit sts;

9th row: purl2tog, 3 purls, 2 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 1 knit st, 1 yarn over, 2 knit sts, 3 purls, purl2tog;

11th row: purl2tog, 2 purls, 2 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 3 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 2 knit sts, 2 purls, purl2tog;

13th row: purl2tog, 1 purl, 2 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 5 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 2 knit sts, 1 purl, purl2tog;

15th row: purl2tog, 2 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 7 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 2 knit sts, purl2tog.

Repeat 1st-16th rows.

Stitches control: 15 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 60 sts with knitting needles 5 and make 6 cm of stockinette stitch for the placket. Then, increase 1 x 1 st from both sides after the 1st st and before the last st and continue work with stockinette stitch. In 33 cm from the set-up row, bind off 1 x 3 sts from both sides for arm-hole chamfers, then, decrease 2 x 1 st in every 2nd row after the first 2 sts and before the last 2 sts. In 20 cm from the beginning of arm-hole chamfers, bind off the rest sts.

Right Front

Cast on 36 sts with knitting needles 5 and make 4 rows of garter stitch. Then, work in the following way: 3 sts of double rib, 30 sts of the main pattern, 3 sts of stockinette stitch. In 30 cm from the set-up row, make arm-hole from the left side in the same way, as for back. In 45 cm from the set-up row, bind off 1 x 10 sts for the neck-hole, then, decrease 6 x 1 st in every 2nd row after the first 2 sts. In 50 cm from the set-up row, bind off the rest sts.

Left Front

Make in symmetry to the right front.

Sleeves

Cast on 24 sts with knitting needles 5 and make 6 cm of stockinette stitch for placket. Then, continue work with stockinette stitch, increase 4 x 1 st in every 12th row after the first 2 sts and before the last 2 sts, 3 x 1 st in every 6th row, 6 x 1 st in every 2nd row. In 40 cm from the placket, decrease 9 x 1 st in every 2nd row after the first 2 sts and before the last 2 sts, 6 x 1 st in every 4th row, bind off the rest sts.

Collar

Cast on 100 sts with knitting needles 4 and make 4 rows of double rib. Change to knitting needles 5 and make 3 sts from each side with double rib, the central sts – with 2 x 2 rib. In 30 cm from double rib, make 4 rows of double rib and bind off all the sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams; cast on 60 sts along the neck-hole with knitting needles 4 and make 8 rows of double rib, bind off all the sts. Sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams. Sew buttons.
