Complete Knitting Guide for Stylish Garment Design with Patterns and Instructions

You'll Need:

550; 600g of mixed content yarn (75% cotton, 25% viscose; 125m/50g);

Knitting needles size 3.5;

Crochet hook size 3;

3 buttons Ø16 mm.

Size:

S; M.

Used Patterns

Stockinette Stitch

In right-side rows - knit stitches, in wrong-side rows - purls;

Wrong-side rows: in right-side rows - purls, in wrong-side rows - knit stitches;

"Blackberry" Pattern

The quantity of stitches is multiplied by 4 + 2 selvedge stitches. Repeat the pattern's 1st-4th rows in height.

  • 1st row: purls;
  • 2nd row: 1 selvedge stitch, * purl 3 together, 3 stitches out of 1 stitch (1 knit stitch, 1 yarn over, 1 knit stitch)*; repeat from * to * to last stitch, 1 selvedge stitch;
  • 3rd row: purls;
  • 4th row: 1 selvedge stitch, * 3 stitches out of 1 stitch (1 knit stitch, 1 yarn over, 1 knit stitch), purl 3 together*; repeat from * to * to last stitch, 1 selvedge stitch.

Drawn Stitches Pattern

  • 1st row: purls;
  • 2nd row: 1 selvedge stitch, * 2 yarn overs, 1 purl*; repeat from * to * to last stitch, 1 selvedge stitch;
  • 3rd row: 1 selvedge stitch, * slip 5 stitches, slip the yarn overs of the previous row and draw the stitches. Lift the stitches to the left-hand needle. Make 5 stitches out of 5 stitches in the following way: 1 cross knit stitch, 1 yarn over, 1 cross knit stitch, 1 yarn over, 1 cross knit stitch*; repeat from * to * to last stitch, 1 selvedge stitch;
  • 4th row: purls.

Patterns Order:

  • 1st and 2nd rows: wrong-side rows;
  • 3rd and 4th rows: stockinette stitch;
  • 5th-12th rows: "blackberry" pattern;
  • 13th row: knit;
  • 14th row: knit;
  • 15th row: knit;
  • 16th row: 1 selvedge stitch, * 1 yarn over, purl 2 together*; repeat from * to * to last stitch, 1 selvedge stitch;
  • 17th row: knit stitches, slip the yarn overs of the previous row;
  • 18th row: 1 selvedge stitch, * 1 knit stitch, 1 cross knit stitch from the lateral thread in front of the next stitch*; repeat from * to * to last stitch, 1 selvedge stitch;
  • 19th-22nd rows: drawn stitches pattern;
  • 23rd row: purls;
  • 24th row: purls;
  • 25th row: 1 selvedge stitch, * 1 yarn over, 1 broaching (slip 1 stitch as knit stitch, 1 knit stitch, draw it through the slipped stitch)*; repeat from * to * to last stitch, 1 selvedge stitch;
  • 26th row: purls.

Repeat 1st-26th rows.

Stitches Control:

24.5 stitches x 29 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 110; 112 stitches and work according to the patterns order.

Repeat 1st-26th rows, at the height of 104 rows (36 cm) bind off 4 stitches x 1 from both sides, then 3 stitches x 1 in a row (in even rows), 2 stitches x 2, 1 stitch x 1. There are 86; 98 stitches in work. Continue work without decreases/increases. Bind off the stitches at 54; 55 cm height.

Left Front

Cast on 58; 62 stitches and work according to the patterns order. Make arm-hole in the same way as described for back. At 43; 44 cm height, bind off 8 stitches x 1 along the left edge and 3 stitches x 1 in every even row, 2 stitches x 4, 1 stitch x 5. Bind off the rest 22; 26 stitches at 54; 55 cm height.

Right Front

Make in reflection to the left front.

Sleeves

Cast on 58 stitches and work according to the patterns order. Increase 1 stitch x 1 from both sides at 19 cm height, then, increase 1 stitch x 11 in every 6th row; 1 stitch x 10 in every 6th row, 1 stitch x 3 in every 4th row. You should get 82; 86 stitches.

After making 1st-26th rows x 5 times, i.e., 45 cm (130 rows), bind off 4 stitches x 1 for sleeve cap from both sides, then 2 stitches x 1; 2 in every even row, 1 stitch x 14; 12, 2 stitches x 3; 4, 3 stitches x 1. Bind off the rest 24 stitches at 14 cm height of sleeve cap.

Make the second sleeve in the same way.

Assembly

Put the ready-made details on the horizontal surface, fix according to the sizes of pattern design. Sew shoulders. Cast on 110 stitches along the neck-hole. Make 2 rows with stockinette stitch, then 2 rows of wrong side. Bind off the stitches.

Cast on 98 stitches along the vertical edges of front, including narrow sides of placket. Knit 3 wrong-side rows and bind off the stitches.

Make button-holes on the right front with the help of a crochet hook: make 1st chain stitch out of 5 at 1.5 cm from the edge of neck-hole. The rest - with 6 cm intervals. Make sleeve and side shoulders. Sew buttons.
