How to Knit a Stylish Rock Collection Sweater

You’ll Need:

1050g of blue Music Style Collection Rock (80% virgin wool, 15% nylon, 5% metallic polyester; 47.5m/50g);

Knitting needles 9;

Crochet hooks 5 and 9.

Main Pattern:

Due to the scheme 1, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows due to the pattern, yarn overs – as purls.

Pattern for Placket:

Pattern (4 sts wide): due to the scheme 2, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows due to the pattern.

Pattern for Collar:

Due to the scheme 3.

Fringe:

3 single crochets, 1 picot.

Stitches Control:

Main Pattern: 10 sts x 11 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Pattern for Collar: 9 sts x 13 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back:

For each rhomb (start separately), cast on 3 sts with knitting needles 9 and work with the main pattern, make the lower edge due to the scheme. In 58 cm from the beginning of work, bind off 5 sts from both sides for arm-holes (= 42 sts). In 17 cm from the beginning of arm-hole, bind off the central 28 sts for neck-hole and finish each side separately. In 80 cm from the beginning of work, bind off the rest 7 sts.

Left Front:

For each rhomb (start separately), cast on 3 sts with knitting needles 9 and work with the main pattern, make the lower edge due to the scheme, make 4 sts from the left side with pattern for placket. In 33 cm from the beginning of work, bind off 14 x 1 st in every row from the left side for chamfer. Make arm-hole from the right side in the same way, as for back. In 80 cm from the beginning of work, bind off the rest 7 sts.

Right Front:

Make in symmetry to the left front.

Sleeves:

Cast on 22 sts with knitting needles 9 and work with the main pattern, make the lower edge due to the scheme. For sleeve chamfers, increase 6 x 1 st in every 8th row (= 34 sts). In 45 cm from the beginning of work, bind off 3 sts from both sides for sleeve caps and 9 x 1 st, 1 x 2 sts in every 2nd row. In 62 cm from the beginning of work, bind off the rest 6 sts.

Assembly:

Make shoulder seams; sew up the sleeves, making side and sleeve seams. Fasten neck-hole with 1 row of single crochets using crochet hook 5. Fasten the plackets with 1 row of slip sts using crochet hook 9. For the collar, cast on 34 sts along back neck-hole and work with pattern for collar, including 8 x 5 sts of front in the end of every row in work = 114 sts. Make 10 rows, then decrease 8 x 5 sts. Join the rest 34 sts to the 1st row of collar. Fasten the lower edge and sleeves with fringe using crochet hook 5. For straps, make 2 cords and join them to the collar.
