You’ll Need:

450 (500)g of lavender Sari yarn (50% cotton, 50% viscose; 90m/50g);

Knitting needles 4.5; 5; 6.5;

Circular knitting needles 4.

Size:

S (M).

Used Patterns

Rib A

Knitting needles 4.5: 1st row: 1 cross knit st, 1 purl;

2nd row: due to the pattern.

Repeat 1st-2nd rows.

Relief Pattern (6 sts wide)

Knitting needles 5: 1st row: *1 knit st, 1 cross knit st, 1 yarn over, knit 2 together, 2 knit sts*; repeat from * to *;

2nd row: purl.

Repeat 1st-2nd rows.

Rib B (5 sts wide)

Knitting needles 5: 1st row: 1 purl, 4 knit sts;

2nd row: due to the pattern.

Repeat 1st-2nd rows.

Stripe with Holes (2 sts wide)

Knitting needles 5: 1st and 2nd rows: purl;

3rd row: *1 yarn over, knit 2 together*; repeat from * to *;

4th and 5th rows: purl;

6th row: knit.

Repeat 1st-6th rows.

Fringe of Arches (18 sts wide)

Knitting needles 6.5: due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows and yarn overs as purls. Repeat the pattern. Make 1st-4th rows x 4 times = 16 rows.

Stitches Control:

Rib A: 14 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Relief pattern: 14 sts x 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Rib B: 14 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Stripe with holes: 14 sts x 6 rows = 10 x 3.5 cm;

Fringe of arches: 14 sts x 16 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 74 (92) sts and make fringe of arches between selvage sts, then, make stripe with holes. After that, make 18.5 cm of relief pattern between selvage sts. In 32 cm = 67 rows from the set-up row, continue work with rib A, making yarn overs of the previous row together with the next st = 62 (77) sts. At a height of 8 cm of rib A, continue work with rib B, starting with 2 knit sts. In 51 cm from the set-up row, bind off 2 sts from both sides for arm-holes and 2 x 1 st in every 2nd row. At a height of 17 (20) cm of arm-holes, bind off the central 14 (19) sts of the neck-hole and finish both sides separately, binding off 1 x 2 sts and 1 x 1 st in every 2nd row from the neck-hole side. At the same time, at a height of 19 (22) cm of arm-holes, bind off 6 (8) sts from the outer edge for shoulder chamfers, 1 x 6 sts and 1 x 5 sts (2 x 7 sts) in every 2nd row. At a height of 21 (24) cm of arm-holes, bind off all the sts.

Front

Start in the same way as the back. At a height of 8 cm of rib A, bind off 4 sts from both sides for chamfers and 6 (8) x 4 sts in every 2nd row. At a height of 14 (15.5) cm of rib A, bind off the remaining 6 (5) sts. Then, cast on 32 (40) sts along the right chamfer and work with rib B between selvage sts, decreasing 11 (14) x 1 st in every 5th (4th) row from the left side. At the same time, at a height of 11 cm of rib, bind off 2 sts from the left side for the arm-hole and 2 x 1 st in every 2nd row. Bind off the rest of the sts at the height of the back. Make the left half in symmetry.

Sleeves

Cast on 56 sts and make fringe of arches between selvage sts, then, make stripe with holes, using knit 3 together instead of knit 2 together after every yarn over in the 3rd row of the stripe, resulting in 18 sts decreased in this row = 38 sts. Then, work with the relief pattern between selvage sts. In 10 cm, increase 1 st from both sides for sleeve chamfers and 4 (8) x 1 st in every 2nd row, including the increased sts in the pattern. In 29.5 (32) cm from the set-up row, bind off 4 sts from both sides for sleeve caps and 2 (3) x 2 sts and 7 (6) x 1 st in every 2nd row. At a height of 10 cm of the sleeve cap, bind off the rest of the sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder, side, and sleeve seams. Sew up the sleeves. For plackets, cast on 72 (80) sts along the neck-hole center to the center of the front with circular knitting needles and work with straight and reversed rows as follows: 1st-3rd rows: knit; 4th row: *1 yarn over, knit 2 together*; repeat from * to *; 5th-9th rows: knit. Then, bind off the sts. Put the right short side of the placket upon the left one and sew.
