You’ll need:

175 (200) 225g of mélange lavender yarn (60% cotton, 40% cashmere; 200m/50g);

Knitting needles 3 and 3,5;

Circular knitting needles 3.

Size: S (M) L.

Used Patterns

Rib: the quantity of sts is multiple 4 + 2.

RS rows: selvage st, * 1 knit st, 2 purls, 1 knit st*; repeat from * to *, selvage st;

WS rows: as sts face;

Circle rows (the quantity of sts is multiple 4): * 1 knit st, 1 purl*.

Peacock’s feather: the quantity of sts is multiple 11 + 2 selvage sts. Work due to the scheme, on which both RS and WS rows are stated. Repeat the pattern between selvage sts. Repeat 1st-4th rows.

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls.

Stitches control: peacock’s pattern: 26,5 sts x 40 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Stockinette stitch: 26 sts x 41 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 106 (118) 130 sts with knitting needles 3 and make 7 cm with rib for lower placket, increase 6 (5) 4 sts in the last WS row = 112 (123) 134 sts. Then, continue work with peacock’s pattern with knitting needles 3,5. For arm-holes, in 26 cm = 104 rows (24 cm = 96 rows) 22 cm = 88 rows from lower placket, bind off 1 x 3 sts from both sides, 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts and 3 x 1 st in every 2nd row. In 36 cm = 144 rows from lower placket, continue work with stockinette stitch, decrease 2 (3) 4 sts in the 1st row = 88 (98) 108 sts. For neck-hole, bind off the central 52 sts in 12 cm = 50 rows and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 1 st in every 2nd row from inwards. At the same time, bind off 1 x 9 (11) 14 sts from both sides in 12,5 cm = 52 rows from patterns change. In 13 cm = 54 rows from patterns change, bind off 8 (11) 13 sts of shoulders.

Front

Make in the same way, as back, but for deeper neck-hole, bind off the central 16 sts in 6 cm = 24 rows from patterns change, then, bind off 1 x 5 sts, 1 x 4 sts, 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts and 3 x 1 st in every 2nd row, then, bind off 2 x 1 st in every 4th row.

Sleeves

Cast on 57 (68) 79sts with knitting needles 3,5 for each sleeve and work with peacock’s pattern. In 32 cm = 128 rows from the set-up row, continue work with stockinette stitch, increase 23 (22) 21 sts in the 1st row = 80 (90) 100 sts. At the same time, increase 20 x 1 st in every 2nd row from both sides from patterns change for sleeve chamfers = 120 (130) 140 sts. For sleeve caps, bind off 1 x 3 sts from both sides in 19,5 cm = 80 rows from pattern change, then, * bind off 1 x 1 st in the next 6th row and 1 x 1 st in the next 8th row*; repeat from * to * x 4 times, bind off 1 x 1 st in the next 6th row = 92 (102) 112 sts. For sleeves, make 1 RS row in 39 cm = 160 rows from patterns change in the following way: 1 selvage st, 1 (2) 3 x 5 sts as cross knit2tog, 20 x 4 sts as cross knit2tog, 1 (2) 3 x 5 sts as cross knit2tog, 1 selvage st. In 39,5 cm = 162 rows from patterns change, bind off the rest 24 (26) 28 sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. Cast on 108 sts along neck-hole with circular knitting needles and make placket with circle rows of placket. In 2 cm, bind off all sts as they face. Sew up the sleeves. Make side and sleeve seams.
