Instructions:
Back:
Cast on 106 (118) 130 stitches with knitting needles 3 and make 7 cm with rib for lower placket, increase 6 (5) 4 stitches in the last WS row = 112 (123) 134 stitches. Then, continue work with peacock’s pattern using knitting needles 3.5.
For arm-holes, in 26 cm = 104 rows (24 cm = 96 rows) 22 cm = 88 rows from lower placket, bind off 1 x 3 stitches from both sides, 1 x 3 stitches, 1 x 2 stitches, and 3 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row.
In 36 cm = 144 rows from lower placket, continue work with stockinette stitch, decrease 2 (3) 4 stitches in the 1st row = 88 (98) 108 stitches.
For neck-hole, bind off the central 52 stitches in 12 cm = 50 rows and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row from inwards. At the same time, bind off 1 x 9 (11) 14 stitches from both sides in 12.5 cm = 52 rows from patterns change. In 13 cm = 54 rows from patterns change, bind off 8 (11) 13 stitches of shoulders.
Front:
Make in the same way as back, but for deeper neck-hole, bind off the central 16 stitches in 6 cm = 24 rows from patterns change, then, bind off 1 x 5 stitches, 1 x 4 stitches, 1 x 3 stitches, 1 x 2 stitches, and 3 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row, then, bind off 2 x 1 stitch in every 4th row.
Sleeves:
Cast on 57 (68) 79 stitches with knitting needles 3.5 for each sleeve and work with peacock’s pattern. In 32 cm = 128 rows from the set-up row, continue work with stockinette stitch, increase 23 (22) 21 stitches in the 1st row = 80 (90) 100 stitches.
At the same time, increase 20 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row from both sides from patterns change for sleeve chamfers = 120 (130) 140 stitches.
For sleeve caps, bind off 1 x 3 stitches from both sides in 19.5 cm = 80 rows from pattern change; then, * bind off 1 x 1 stitch in the next 6th row and 1 x 1 stitch in the next 8th row*; repeat from * to * x 4 times, bind off 1 x 1 stitch in the next 6th row = 92 (102) 112 stitches.
For sleeves, make 1 RS row in 39 cm = 160 rows from patterns change in the following way: 1 selvage stitch, 1 (2) 3 x 5 stitches as cross knit2tog, 20 x 4 stitches as cross knit2tog, 1 (2) 3 x 5 stitches as cross knit2tog, 1 selvage stitch. In 39.5 cm = 162 rows from patterns change, bind off the rest 24 (26) 28 stitches.
