Knitting a Lavender Sadness Mandarin Petit Sweater





You’ll Need:
350 (350) 400 (450)g of lavender Sadness Mandarin Petit yarn (100% cotton; 180m/50g);
Circular and straight knitting needles 3;
Crochet hook 2.5.
Size:
S/M (M/L) L/XL (XL/XXL)
- Chest circumference: 89 (98) 107 (115) cm;
- Length: 64 (65) 66 (67) cm;
- Sleeve length: 30 cm.
Stitches Control:
27 sts = 10 cm.
Instructions
Front and Back
Cast on 240 (264) 288 (312) sts and make 1 circle row of knit sts. Then, work with relief pattern according to scheme A.
Note: make knit3tog instead of knit2tog in the rows, marked with arrows, as it’s shown on the scheme. At 45 cm height, bind off the sts from both sides for arm-holes in the following way: bind off the last 4 sts of the previous row and the first 3 sts of the next row (= 7 sts) and knit 113 (125) 137 (149) sts according to the pattern, bind off 7 sts, knit 113 (125) 137 (149) sts according to the pattern. After that, make each detail separately.
Back
Work with straight and reversed rows with relief pattern according to scheme B. Make decreases for arm-holes in the same way as shown on the scheme = 99 (111) 123 (135) sts. Then, work with pattern according to scheme C. At 17 (18) 19 (20) cm height of the arm-hole, bind off the central 57 sts for the neck-hole and then, make each side separately. At 19 (20) 21 (22) cm height of the arm-hole, transfer the rest 21 (27) 33 (39) sts of each shoulder to the auxiliary needle.
Front
Work with straight and reversed rows in the same way as the back, but with a deeper neck-hole. For this, at 7 (8) 9 (10) cm height of arm-hole, bind off the central 57 sts and knit each side separately. At 19 (20) 21 (22) cm height of the arm-hole, transfer the rest 21 (27) 33 (39) sts of each shoulder to the auxiliary needle.
Sleeves
Cast on 84 (96) 96 (108) sts with circular knitting needles and make 1 circle row of knit sts. Then, work with relief pattern according to scheme A. At 30 cm height of the sleeve, bind off the central 7 sts from inwards for the arm-hole. Then, work with relief pattern according to scheme D with straight and reversed rows. Repeat the pattern until you’ve made 30 rows. Bind off the rest of the sts of sleeves.
Assembly
Make shoulder seams on open sts, sew up the sleeves. Fasten the neck-hole with 2 rows of single crochets with the help of a crochet hook, making decreases in the corners.
