Knitting Instructions for a Peachy Yarn Jacket

You Will Need:

500g of peachy yarn (85% cotton, 15% polyacryl);

Knitting needles 5;

9 buttons.

Size:

S (M).

Used Patterns:

• 2 x 2 rib;
• Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls;
• Diagonal pattern: due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows due to the pattern, yarn overs as purl.
  Repeat 1^st-8^th rows, then, repeat 9^th-10^th rows.

Stitches Control:

16 sts x 25 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

Back:

Cast on 66 (74) sts and work with rib, start 1^st WS row with 1 selvage st, 1 knit st, 2 purls. In 20 cm from both sides of 1 selvage st, work with 5 (9) stockinette stitch. Make 54 sts with diagonal pattern – 10 sts pattern A, 40 sts due to the pattern, 10 sts pattern B. Increase outer stripe of stockinette stitch to 1 st in every RS row and decrease the sts in the center. Then, repeat 9^th and 10^th rows. At the same time, increase 5 x 1 st in every 5^th row for side chamfers and work with stockinette stitch = 76 (84) sts. In 41 cm, bind off 1 x 4 sts, 1 x 4 sts and 2 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from both sides for neck-hole = 55 (66) sts. In 55 (57) cm, bind off the central 30 sts for neck-hole, then, bind off 1 x 4 sts and 1 x 2 sts in every 2^nd row from both sides. In 55 (60) cm, bind off the rest 8 (12) sts of shoulder.

Left Front:

Cast on 33 (37) sts and work with rib from WS row in the following way: 1 selvage st, 2 purls. In 20 cm, make 5 (9) sts of stockinette stitch after 1 selvage st, then, make 9^th and 10^th rows on the last 10 sts before selvage st. Make side chamfer and arm-hole from the right side in the same way as for back. In 41 (43) cm from the left side, bind off 3 x 1 st in every 2^nd row, 3 x 1 st in every 4^th row. For this, knit to the 11^th st before the end of row, then, knit 2 together. In 58 (60) cm, bind off 8 (12) sts of shoulder from the right side. Knit the rest 10 sts in the same way as previously, increase 1 selvage st in the 1^st row. Bind off all 11 sts in 8 cm.

Right Front:

Make in symmetry to the left front.

Sleeves:

Cast on 42 (46) sts and work with rib, start with WS row in the following way: 1 selvage st, 1 knit st, 2 purls. In 15 cm from both sides of 1 selvage st, make 1 (3) sts of stockinette stitch. Make the central 33 sts due to the diagonal pattern – 10 sts of pattern A, 18 sts due to the pattern, 10 sts of pattern B. Then, make widening of stockinette stitch in the same way as for back, then, repeat 9^th and 10^th rows. At the same time with the beginning of the diagonal pattern, increase 7 x 1 st in every 10^th row (7 x 1 st in every 3^rd row) and work with stockinette stitch. In 48 cm, bind off 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts, 10 x 1 sts, 2 x 2 sts, 1 x 3 sts in every 2^nd row from both sides for sleeve caps, then, bind off the rest 12 (18) sts.

Assembly:

Make all the seams, sew the sleeves. Put the fronts one upon another and sew. Fasten the edges of the jacket with 1 row of half crochets, make 9 button-holes on the right front. Sew buttons.
