Stitches Control:

17.5 stitches x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Note:

Work as a one-piece detail from sleeve to sleeve.

Instructions:

Cast on 38 (42) stitches and make 8 cm of rib for the placket. Increase 7 stitches in the last row = 45 (49) stitches. Then, work with the main pattern while increasing: 5 x 1 stitch every 10th row, 6 x 1 stitch every 8th row, 1 x 1 stitch every 6th row, 1 x 1 stitch every 4th row, and then 1 x 1 stitch, 1 x 2 stitches, 2 x 3 stitches, 4 x 4 stitches every 2nd row, totaling 121 (129) stitches. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 1 stitch along the left side at 52 cm = 136 rows from rib; then, 2 x 1 stitch every 8th row, 2 x 1 stitch every 6th row, and 1 x 1 stitch every 4th row, finishing with 2 x 2 stitches, 1 x 3 (4) stitches, and 1 x 1 stitch every 4th row = 26 (29) stitches.

At the same time, in 57 cm = 148 rows from rib, leave 60 (64) stitches of the back open and finish the left front first. Bind off 1 x 5 stitches inwards for the neck-hole, then follow with 1 x 4 stitches, 1 x 3 stitches, 2 x 2 stitches, and 5 x 1 stitch every 2nd row. In 67.5 cm = 176 rows from rib, the left front is finished. Cast on 26 (29) stitches for the right front and mirror the left front pattern. Continue with the main pattern with right-side rows as per the last row of the left front. After 10.5 cm = 28 rows, leave the stitches of the right front open and continue with the back. Bind off 1 x 2 stitches inwards for the neck-hole and 2 x 1 stitch every 2nd row = 56 (60) stitches. At 67.5 cm = 176 rows, the middle of the back is reached; finish the back reflecting this pattern, then continue with the main pattern and increase stitches of the right front at the end of the neck-hole before working on all stitches. After 135 cm = 352 rows from rib, create ribbing for the right sleeve, decreasing 7 stitches in the 1st row = 38 (42) stitches. Bind off stitches according to the ornament after making 8 cm of rib.

Assembly:

Make side and sleeve seams. Cast on 35 stitches along the chamfers and 62 stitches along the back neck-hole with circular knitting needles, then work with rib on all 132 stitches. Start with 2 purls and finish with a knot edge in the wrong side row between selvage stitches. After 16 cm, bind off all stitches according to the ornament. Cast on 66 (75) stitches along the edges of the front for the placket and 72 (82) stitches along the lower edge of back with circular knitting needles = 204 (232) stitches. Work with rib, starting the wrong side row with 2 purls. Make 3 button-loops on the right front 1.5 cm from the beginning of work by binding off 3 stitches for each loop and casting them on again in the next row. Sew the buttons.
