Complete Instructions for Knitting a Colorful Sweater

You’ll Need:

150; 200; 200; 250g of yarn (45% wool, 45% polyacryl, 10% Alpaca; 115m/50g) of grey color;

100; 150; 150; 150g of the same yarn, but in pink, light-green, and light-beige colors;

Circle knitting needles size 6.

Main pattern: the quantity of stitches is multiplied by 4 + 2 selvedge stitches.

Row Instructions:

• 1^st row: knit;
• 2^nd row: purl;
• 3^rd row: * 4 knit stitches, draw the 1^st knit stitch through the rest 3 stitches*; repeat from * to *;
• 4^th row: * 3 purls, 1 yarn over*; repeat from * to *.

Repeat 1^st-4^th rows.

Order of Colored Stripes:

68 rows with grey yarn, 24; 24; 28; 28 rows with light-green yarn, 24; 28; 28; 32 rows with pink yarn, 40; 40; 40; 42 rows with light-beige yarn. A total of 156; 160; 164; 170 rows.

Stitches Control: 18 stitches x 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Cast on 98; 106; 114; 122 stitches with grey yarn and make 1 wrong-side row with purls. This row isn’t calculated in the further work.

Then, turn to the main pattern. Make it, changing the yarn colors as described above.

After 42 rows (18.5 cm) from the set-up row, add 2 stitches from both sides for sleeve chamfers, then add 2 stitches x 11 in every even row. You should get 146; 154; 162; 170 stitches.

After 66 rows (28.5 cm) from the set-up row, make armholes straight.

After 134 rows (58 cm); 138 rows (60 cm); 142 rows (61.5 cm); 146 rows (63.5 cm) from the set-up row, bind off 4; 4; 4; 5 stitches x 1 from both sides for shoulder line, then, 4 stitches x 10 in every 2^nd row, 4 stitches x 6, 5 stitches x 4; 4 stitches x 2; 5 stitches x 8; 5 stitches x 10.

At the same time, in 65 cm (150 rows), 67 cm (154 rows); 68.5 cm (158 rows); 70.5 cm (162 rows) from the 1^st row, bind off the central 40 stitches and finish each side separately.

For smooth rounding, bind off 2 stitches x 2 in every even row along the inner edge.

In 156 rows (68 cm); 160 rows (70 cm); 164 rows (71.5 cm); 170 rows (73.5 cm) from the 1^st row, bind off the rest 5; 5; 5; 6 stitches from both sides for shoulders.

Front

Make in the same way as the back, but with a deeper neck-hole. In 140 rows (61 cm); 144 rows (63 cm); 148 rows (64.5 cm); 152 rows (66.5 cm) from the 1^st row, bind off the central 32 stitches, then, make rounding, bind off 2 stitches x 4 in every even row.

Assembly

Sew up the shoulders.

Lift 100 stitches with light-beige yarn along the neck-hole line.

Make 2 circle rows with purls and 1 circle row with knit stitches. Bind off the stitches.

Lift 64 stitches with grey yarn on the straight corners and make around knit stitches, then 2 circle rows with purls. Bind off all the stitches.

Sew up the sides and lower seams on sleeves.
