How to Make Cozy T-Shirt Yarn and Faux Fur Slippers





You’ll Need:
T-shirt yarn (weight 6 /super bulky weight, 100 m (109 yards) /330 g (11.5 oz) - 88 (96, 104, 109 yards) / 80 (88, 96, 100 m);
Go For Faux™ Yarn Lion Brand less than 1 ball or another 6 super bulky fur yarn (64 yards/100 g);
Crochet hook 6.5-7 mm and 9 mm;
Tapestry needle.
Size:
6 (7-8, 9-10, 11) or 8.9 (9.25-9.5, 9.9-10.2, 10.5) “
Instructions
The model is made for size 7-8. Yardage is listed in parentheses whereas 88 yards of t-shirt yarn is for size 6, 96 yards is for size 7-8, and so on. Right and left slippers are worked identically and include 4 soles. 2 soles are sewn together for a thicker and sturdier structure.
Sole
Make 4.
With 7 mm crochet hook ch 16 (17, 18, 19)
Round 1. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and next 6 (7, 8, 9) st, 1 hdc, 1 dc in next 6 st, 5 dc in last st. Work across the opposite side of the foundation ch, 1 dc in next 6 st, 1 hdc, sc in next 6 (7, 8, 9) st, 2 sc in last st. Join with a sl st to the first sc. 35 (36, 38, 40) st.
Round 2. Ch 2 (counts as a st), 2 dc in next st, dc in next 13 (14, 15, 16) st, 2 dc in next 2 st, 3 dc in next st, 2 dc in next 2 st, dc in next 14 (15, 16, 17) st, 2 dc in next st, dc in last st. Join with sl st to the first dc. 44 (46, 48, 50) st. Leave a length of yarn on 2 soles for sewing pieces together.
Block all 4 pieces.
Join 2 pieces with wrong sides facing each other with sl st.
Top Stripe
Row 1. With 9 mm hook join fur yarn to the 11th st of the sole, sc in next 9 st toward toe. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2-6. Sc to the end of the row. Ch 1, turn.
Note: Add rows as necessary to cover your foot.
Join with sl st to corresponding st on the other side of the sole.
Repeat row 1-6 for the second slipper.
Finish off and weave ends.
