How to Knit a Stylish L-XL Sweater

You’ll Need

650g of yarn (35% wool, 25% viscose, 40% acryl; 150m/100g) in white color;

Knitting needles 4;

Circle knitting needles 4.

L-XL.

Used Patterns

Main pattern: due to the scheme;

• 2 x 2 rib.

Stitches Control

17 sts x 28 rows of the main pattern = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 83 sts and make 1 WS row with knit sts.

Then, make the 1^st row of the main pattern due to the scheme: make 7 sts from the right side due to the ornament, repeat 10 sts of pattern x 7 times, make 6 sts from the left side. Repeat 1^st-28^th rows. At 47 cm height, bind off 9 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from both sides for arm-holes. At 22 cm height, bind off 23 sts from both sides for shoulder chamfers, transfer the central 19 sts (neck-hole) to the auxiliary needle and leave.

Front

Make in the same way as back, but with deeper neck-hole. For this, at 38 cm height, bind off the central 1 st and then, knit both parts separately, decreasing 6 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from inwards. Make arm-holes in the same way as back. At 69 cm height, bind off the rest 27 sts. Make the second half in symmetry to the first.

Sleeves

Cast on 53 sts and make 1 WS row with knit sts. Then, make the 1^st row of the main pattern due to the scheme: make 7 sts from the right side due to the ornament, repeat 10 sts of pattern x 4 times, make 7 sts from the left side. Repeat 1^st-28^th rows. At 18 cm height of sleeve, increase 10 x 1 st in every 6^th row from both sides for sleeve chamfers and then 6 x 1 st in every 4^th row = 85 sts. At 49 cm height of sleeve, bind off 2 x 5 sts and 8 x 3 sts in every 2^nd row from both sides. Bind off the rest sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. Cast on 19 sts on circle knitting needles and lift 129 sts along the neck-hole line = 148 sts. Make 11 cm with 2 x 2 rib with circle rows, bind off the sts. Make side seams and sew the sleeves.
