Short Crochet Socks

You’ll need:

100g of white Novita Tennessee yarn (100% mercerized cotton; 107m/50g);

Crochet hook 3.

Instructions

Start your work with toe. Twist the thread of yarn around finger and make 8 single crochets in the obtained ring, tighten the hole. Work with single crochets in spiral order, catching sts through back loop and making increases in the following way:

1st row: 2 single crochets in every st (16 sts);

2nd row: * 3 single crochets, 2 single crochets in the next st*; repeat from * to * (20 sts);

3rd row: * 4 single crochets, 2 single crochets in the next st*; repeat from * to * (24 sts);

4th row: * 2 single crochets, 2 single crochets in the next st*; repeat from * to * (32 sts);

5th row: * 3 single crochets, 2 single crochets in the next st*; repeat from * to * (40 sts).

Make 10 rows without increases. Then, increase sts from both sides of toe in the following way: 2 single crochets in 1 st of the previous row, 19 single crochets, 2 single crochets in 1 st, 19 single crochets (42 sts).

Make such increases in every 5th row (48 sts).

Fit your future sock and make decreases or increases if needed. Then, crochet straight until the length of work is the same as the length of foot to heel (= about 16-17 cm).

Then, start making heel. For this, divide your work in half along the side edges and work only on sts lower part of foot = 24 sts with straight and reversed rows in the following way: turn, 24 single crochets, turn. After that, leave 1 st open in the beginning of every row, until there are 12 sts left. Crochet these 12 sts and start making increases: 1 st in the beginning of every row until the quantity of sts is 24.

After that, continue crochet around on all the sts with single crochets for 5 more rows, catching sts through back loops. Cut and fasten the yarn. Make side seams of heel.
