How to Make a Crochet Soap Saver

Materials Needed
For this Crocheted Soap Saver project you will need:
- HOCK: 6 mm hook or a US size J
- You will also need a size 4 mm hook or a US size G – 6 hook to make the chain handle.
- YARN: 4 ply US yarn or 10 ply AU
- Some yellow and a bit of white yarn.
- Stitch marker of some kind.
Abbreviations
- ch = Chain
- sl st = Slip Stitch
- SC = Single Crochet
- st = Stitch
- Sc dec = Single Crochet Decrease
- * = Repeat what’s in between * for the rest of round.
Instructions
Round 1
Ch 15 then sc in 2nd chain from hook. Sc in all sts (14) then continue to sc in opposite side of stitches (14 sts). Sl st into beginning sc. PLACE MARKER HERE.
Rounds 2 through 8
Sc in all sts around. Always sl stitching into beginning sc.
Round 9
Sc 4 then do 1 dec, continue for the whole round (23 sts).
Round 10
Sc 4 then do 1 dec, continue for the whole round (19 sts).
Rounds 11 & 12
Sc in all sts around (19 sts).
Round 13
Ch 2, dc 4, popcorn using the top of ch 2, ch 1 and skip a stitch. Do 5 dc’s on the next st and popcorn. Continue all around for a total of 10 popcorns.
Round 14
Ch 3, dc in all the tops of the popcorn (the space left in between the dc’s) and dc in all the ch 1 spaces (19 sts). Ch 1, cut yarn, and weave in tails.
Making the Draw String
Ch 90 and sl st into the beginning ch to form a loop, ch 1, cut yarn, and work in ends. Now weave the double ch through the spaces between the dc’s.
