Materials
Soft white yarn (baby-friendly)
Small amount of black yarn (for tie)
Crochet hook (size suitable for your yarn, e.g. 2.5 mm–3.5 mm)
Scissors
Yarn needle (for weaving in ends)
Glove 1
Starting the Base
Wrap the white yarn around your fingers twice to create a magic loop.
Insert your crochet hook under the first strand.
Pull the second strand through to form the initial loop.
Chain a few stitches to close the loop into a circle.
First Round
Work single crochet (sc) stitches all around the magic circle.
Subsequent Rounds
Continue working in rounds using single crochet stitches.
Maintain a consistent stitch count to build a cylindrical shape.
Crochet a total of 12 rounds for the hand section.
Creating the Thumb Opening
At the start of the 13th round, skip 5 stitches to form a hole.
Chain 5 stitches.
Rejoin with single crochet stitches and continue the round as usual.
This creates an opening for the thumb.
Thumb Section
Shaping the Thumb
Attach yarn at the thumbhole.
Identify the 5 stitches around the thumbhole.
Work single crochet stitches around those 5 stitches for 4 rows.
This forms a short tube for the thumb.
Finishing the Thumb
After 4 rounds, insert the hook into any stitch around the thumb opening.
Chain 1 to begin.
Work single crochet stitches around the opening to refine and finish the shape of the thumb.
Slip stitch to join and fasten off.
Glove 2
Repeat all the steps from Glove 1 to make the second glove identical.
Adding the Tie
Creating the Tie
Using black yarn, create a long chain (length depends on wrist size, usually about 40–50 chains).
Weaving the Tie
Weave the black chain in and out through the top edge stitches of each glove.
This will act as a drawstring to secure the gloves around the wrist.
