Materials needed:

2.5 mm crochet hook

Four-ply milk cotton yarn

Green yarn for flower petals

Yellow yarn for spadix (center)

2 mm wire (optional, but recommended for added sturdiness)

Floral wire (for stem)

Hot glue gun (optional for assembly)


Flower Pattern:

Row 1:

Magic ring:

Hold the yarn and wrap it around your two fingers to create a loop.

Insert the hook into the loop and pull the yarn through

10 Single Crochet (sc) in magic ring:

Insert the hook, yarn over, pull through.

Yarn over again and pull through both loops.

Chain 2:

Turn work, insert 1 double crochet (dc) into the first stitch.

Insert stitch marker.

2 double crochet (dc) increases in each stitch (repeat until the end):

Yarn over, insert hook into first stitch, yarn over, pull through, yarn over pull through two loops, yarn over pull through last two loops.

Repeat for 9 more stitches.

2 double crochet in one stitch (dc inc), 1 fpdc: (repeat pattern)

Work to center of flower.

11 single crochet (sc) into double crochet loops.

Insert hook, yarn over, pull through for each stitch.

Slip stitch in center loop:

Insert hook, pull through all loops.

Wire insertion for shaping:

Insert wire through the center and follow flower shape.

Chain one, remove stitch marker:

Insert hook in stitch marker loop, 32 single crochet (sc) around the edge.

1 half double crochet (hdc), 1 double crochet (dc), 1 double crochet increase (dc inc),

1 treble crochet (tr), picot stitch, treble crochet (tr), double crochet increase (dc inc),

Repeat around edge with inserted wire.


Spadix Pattern:

Row 1:

Magic ring:

Make a loop with the yarn as done in flower.

6 single crochet (sc) in the ring.

Slip stitch in first stitch, chain one.


Row 2-16:

6 single crochet (sc) per stitch

Continue working in a spiral without slip stitch for seamless appearance.


Assembly:

Insert flower stem into spadix.

Add hot glue for stability.

Insert spadix into flower center adding hot glue to fix.

Wrap stem with green yarn:

Use hot glue to secure the yarn at the beginning and end.


Final Touch:

Bend wire for desired flower shape.
