Pattern
Basket
With yarn A and H/8 (5mm) hook, ch12.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, turn. (11 sts)
Row 2: Ch1 (does not count as st), sc across, turn. (11 sts)
Rep Row 2 thirty-six more times, do not turn.
Round 1: Ch1, sc in each row-end, 3 sc in corner, sc in each st, 3 sc in corner, sc in each row-end, 3 sc in corner, sc in each st, 3 sc in corner, do not turn. (102 sts)
Continue in spiral rounds, working 1 sc in each st around, until you complete 9 rounds. Next, join yarn B, continue in spiral rounds, until you complete 16 more rounds. Sl st in 3 next sts to finish. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Handles
With yarn C and G/6 (4mm) hook, ch361. Do not worry if you lose count, just make sure your chain measures approx 228cm/90”.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, turn. (360 sts)
Row 2: Ch1 (does not count as st), sc across, turn. (360 sts)
Rep Row 2 five more times, fasten off, leaving a long tail.
Use the tail and needle to sew both ends of the strap together to make a loop.
Finishing
With the remaining yarn C, sew the handles to the basket, making sure they are the same length.
Handle straps should be spaced apart by about 15 stitches (see picture). Place the seam on the bottom of the basket.
