Rose Head Instructions
Rd 1: Either ch 42, dc in the 2nd ch from the hook and dc across or make a dc foundation ch 40.
Rd 2: Turn, sc in the first dc, (skip the next 3 dc, [dc 4, p, dc 4 in the same st], skip the next 3 dc, sc) x5 (makes 5 petals).
FO, leaving a tail for sewing.
Roll up a little tight and sew the base, (the dc row), together by going back and forth through the base.
Insert the eyes on an outer petal, 3 sts apart in the middle st of the petal.
Stem Instructions
Rd 1: 5 sc in MR.
Rds 2-9: sc around (5) (8 rounds).
Rd 10: dc inc (10).
Rd 11: Sl st to join the rd, (ch 3, sc 2 starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, sl st in the next 2 sts) x4, sl st, (ch 3, sc 2 starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, sl st in the next st) x2.
FO, leaving a tail for sewing.
Sew the head of the rose to the stem. I sewed the base of the different arms to the rose head. This leaves the tips loose. Weave in the ends.
Leaf Instructions
(Make 1 or 2)
Ch 5.
Start in the 2nd ch from the hook. Sl st, sc, hdc, 5 hdc in the last st, turn, working on the other side of the ch, hdc, sc, sl st 2. The last sl st is in the 1st ch.
FO, leaving a tail for sewing and slip the tail through the leaf to the rounded bottom of the leaf. Sew to the stem and weave in the ends.
