Size: Fits a standard 750ml bordeaux wine bottle

Supplies Needed

  • 80 yards Sport Weight Yarn
  • Crochet Hook H-8/5.0mm
  • One 1" button
  • Scissors, needle & coordinating thread

  • Ch = Chain
  • Dc = Double Crochet
  • Sc = Single Crochet
  • BLO = Back Loops Only
  • Sk = Skip
  • Sl St = Slip Stitch

Instructions

Make a magic ring.

Rounds Overview

Round 1:

Ch 3 (counts as first dc from rounds 1 to 4), dc 7 into the ring, join with a sl st on top of the ch3. (8 dc)

Round 2:

Ch 3, dc into the same st, 2dc in each st around, join. (16 dc)

Round 3:

Ch 3, *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next* repeat from * to * around, join. (24 dc)

Round 4:

Ch 3, 1 dc in next st, *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next 2 sts* - repeat from * to * around, join. (32 dc)

Round 5:

Ch 1, working on the BLO, 1 sc in each st around, join. (32 sc)

Round 6:

Ch 4 (counts as first dc and ch-1 from now on), *sk next st, dc in next, ch 1* repeat from * to * around, join on the 3rd chain of ch-4 at the beginning of the round.

Rounds 7-25:

Sl st on to the 4th ch of ch-4 from previous round (by doing this you’ll have your st centered). Ch 4, *dc in the next ch-1 space from previous round, ch 1* repeat from * to * around, join.

Fasten off, weave in loose ends.

Closing Tab

Ch 29, dc in 11th chain from hook (button hole made), dc in each remaining ch across. Fasten off, weave in loose ends.

Using needle and thread, sew button.
