Dimensions of the Bag

The bag is about 4½ inches tall and 3¼ inches wide.

Materials Needed

  • Hook Size

    I
  • Yarn

Worsted Weight Yarn (I used Redheart Super Saver)

Crocheting Instructions

This little bag is worked in rounds without joining until the final round. I just use a piece of yarn to mark the beginning end of the bag.

Starting the Bag

1. Chain 11.

First Round

2. Single crochet in the 2nd chain from the hook to the last chain, 2 single crochet in the last chain. Continue up the other side of the beginning chain with a single crochet in each chain until the first single crochet, work another single crochet in the first chain. First round is complete. (20 single crochet)

Subsequent Rounds

3. Round 2: Half double crochet in each single crochet. (20 half double crochet)

4. Rounds 2-9: Half double crochet in each stitch. (20 half double crochet)

Final Rounds

5. Round 10: Half double crochet in each stitch to the last stitch of the round, join with a slip stitch. (20 half double crochet)

6. Round 11: Chain 4, skip 1 stitch, *double crochet in the next stitch, chain 1, skip 1 stitch,* repeat between * * to the beginning chain 4, join with slip stitch in the 3rd chain. Cut yarn and hide the end or make a chain 5 and pull the yarn through the last chain as I did in the yellow bag!

Creating the Closure

To form the closure, chain 20 and join with a slip stitch to a double crochet. Chain 22 more, cut the yarn, and pull it through the 22nd chain. Trim the ends, thread the tie chains through the double crochet round, and you are done.
