How to Make a Crochet Roll-Up Pencil Case

- Crochet Hook: 4mm [US G-7]
- Yarn needle
Size
The Pencil Case is 7” wide x 9½” long.
Gauge
15 sc = 4”; 16 rows = 4”. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
Pencil Case Instructions
Ch 26.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across – 25 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc – 25 sc.
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 4½” from the beginning, end with a right side row.
Bottom Fold Row (Wrong Side)
Ch 1, work sc in each st 2 rows below – 25 sc.
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 14” from the beginning, end with a right side row.
Top Fold Row (Wrong Side)
Repeat Bottom Fold Row.
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 15½” from the beginning. Fasten off.
Finishing:
Fold top and bottom edges to the wrong side along Fold Rows. Working through both layers, sc evenly along edges of each row to secure pockets.
With right side facing, slip st down center of Pencil Case, working through both layers to divide into two pockets.
Ties (Make 2)
Ch 31.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each st across. Fasten off.
Place ties 1” from top and 1” from bottom. Sew to case at center point. Weave in ends.
