You’ll Need:

Anchor Baby Pure Cotton: 1 x #00105 A, #00271 B, #00402 C, #00272 D, #00269 E, #00432 F, #00409 G, #00429 H (colors);

Crochet hook 3.5 mm;

Yarn needle;

Sewing thread;

Zipper.

Size:

22 x 11 cm.

Special Stitches

Spike Stitch: Yarn around hook, insert hook in next stitch 2 rows below, yarn over and pull through all loops.

Colors Order (26 Rows)

Version 1:

1 row E, 2 rows C, 2 rows G, 2 rows H, 2 rows D, 2 rows A, 2 rows E, 2 rows C, 2 rows G, 2 rows H, 2 rows D, 2 rows A, 2 rows E, 1 row H.

Version 2:

1 row D, 2 rows F, 2 rows B, 2 rows E, 2 rows D, 2 rows F, 2 rows B, 2 rows E, 2 rows D, 2 rows F, 2 rows B, 2 rows E, 2 rows D, 1 row F.

Instructions

Make 2 pieces for each pencil case following the colors order.

Ch 41

Row 1: (WS) 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each ch across, turn – 40 sc.

Row 2: (RS) Ch 1 (does not count as a st), 1 sc in each st across, turn – 40 sc.

Row 3: Ch 1, * 1 sc in next 3 sts, 1 spike st in next st; rep from * across, turn.

Row 4: Ch 1, 1 sc in each st across, turn.

Row 5: Ch 1, 1 sc in next 2 sts, * 1 spike st in next st, 1 sc in next 3 sts; rep from * across to last 2 sts, 1 spike st in next st, 1 sc in last st, turn.

Row 6: Ch 1, 1 sc in each st across, turn.

Row 7: Ch 1, 1 sc in first st, * 1 spike st in next st, 1 sc in next 3 sts; rep from * across to last 3 sts, 1 spike st in next st, 1 sc in last 2 sts, turn.

Row 8: Ch 1, 1 sc in each st across, turn.

Row 9: Ch 1, * 1 spike st in next st, 1 sc in next 3 sts; rep from * across, turn.

Row 10: Ch 1, 1 sc in each st across, turn.

Rows 11 - 26: Repeat rows 3 - 10 two more times.

Fasten off and weave in all threads.

Assembly

Holding RS together, sew around 3 sides of your pencil case and turn so that RS are now facing out. Sew in the zipper using strong thread.
