How to Knit Beautiful Relief Socks for 18-24 Months: A Complete Guide with Patterns and Techniques

You'll Need:

50g of yarn (50% wool, 50% acryl; 95m/25g);

Knitting needles size 3.

Size:

18-24 months

Used Patterns:

  • 1 x 1 rib;
  • Stockinette stitch: in circle rows - all knit stitches;
  • "Picot": knit 2 together, 1 yarn over by turn;
  • Relief rhombs pattern: follow the scheme. Make even rows with knit stitches.
    Pattern size = 16 rows in height.

Stitches Control for Stockinette Stitch:

30 stitches x 40 rows = 10cm x 10cm.

Instructions:

Start making relief socks with the edge. Cast on 42 stitches and allocate them on knitting needles in the following way: 10, 11, 10, 11 stitches.

Row Instructions:

  • 1st and 2nd rows: stockinette stitch;
  • 3rd row: "picot";
  • 4th and 5th rows: stockinette stitch;
  • From 6th row: 1 x 1 rib.

Knit 3 cm in the last row on 11 stitches and decrease 1 stitch. Total, you should have 40 stitches.

Then, turn to the relief rhombs pattern. Knit 8 cm of the pattern, then switch to stockinette stitch. Continue, using the classic scheme of sock knitting. After knitting 6 cm for the heel, start making the descent for the toe part.
