Materials

  • Small amounts of Light and Worsted Weight yarns.
  • Model was made with Mary Maxim Starlette worsted weight yarn in "Aqua" and Mary Maxim Sugar Baby Stripes light weight yarn in "Blueberry Burst."
  • Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Rnd 1 = approx 2"

  • ch - chain
  • yo - yarn over
  • sc - single crochet(s)
  • dc - double crochet
  • sl st(s) - slip stitch(es)
  • hdc - half double crochet
  • sp(s) - space(s)
  • lp(s) - loop(s)
  • st(s) - stitch(es)

Special Stitches

Long Single Crochet (lsc) - Insert hook in indicated st or row, pull up lp to height of working row, yo, pull through both lps on hook.

Instructions

Rnd 1: (Right Side) Starting at center, with Aqua, ch 5, join with sl st to first ch to form ring; ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), dc in ring, ch 1, [2 dc in ring, ch 1] 5 times; join with sl st to first dc. Finish off and weave in ends. (12 dc and 6 ch-1 sps)

Rnd 2: With right side facing, join Blueberry Burst with sl st to any ch-1 sp, ch 5 (counts as first dc and ch-2), 2 dc in same sp, [ch 1, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch-1 sp] around, ending ch 1, dc in first ch-1 sp; join as before. (24 dc, 6 ch-2 sps and 6 ch-1 sps)

Rnd 3: Sl st in ch-2 sp, ch 3, 6 dc in same sp, ch 1, work lsc around the next ch-1 sp working in between the next 2 dc below in Rnd 1, ch 1, [7 dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 1, lsc around next ch-1 space, ch 1] around; join as before. (42 dc, 6 lsc and 12 ch-1 sps)

Finish off and weave in ends.
