• Yarn - Any Worsted Weight yarn (4) Brown, Fall Variegated
• I used Red Heart Super Saver leftovers

Stitches Used

• Chain (ch)
• Slip Stitch (sl st)
• Half Double Crochet (hdc)
• Double Crochet (dc)
• Triple Crochet (tr)
• Back Loop Only (blo)
• Front Loop Only (flo)

Coaster Size

Size: 4 Inches

Notes for Crocheting

• Ch3 Counts as a dc
• Rounds/Rows are joined to the ch3 with a slst

Crochet Instructions

RND 1: Ch 5, 9 dc in the 4th ch from the hook, join, ch3.

(10 dc)

RND 2: 1 dc in the same st as ch3, 2 dc in each st around, join, ch 3.

(20 dc)

RND 3: 1 dc in the same st as ch3, *1 dc in next st, 2 dc in the next st*. Repeat From * to * around, join, ch 2.

(30 dc)

RND 4: FLO, 1 hdc in each st around, join, ch2, tie off.

(30 hdc)

This makes a nice edge for the Mug to stay in place on the coaster.

If you do not want the ridge, skip to RND 4.

RND 5: Change to variegated yarn, working blo of RND 3, *sl st in the next st, 1 sl st, ch 3, 2 tr, ch 3, sl st in the same st, sl st in the next st, 1 sl st in the next st*. Repeat From * to * 4 more times for 5 feathers. Sl st in the next 8 sts.

Then Repeat From * to * 1 time for the head of the turkey. Sl st in the next 2 sts.

For 1st leg, **ch 4, 1 dc in the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sl st in the last 2 chs.**

Sl st in the next st. Repeat From ** to ** for 2nd leg. Sl st in the last 3 sts, join, and tie off.

For Beak: Join yarn to the 2nd tr of the head, ch 2, 1 hdc in the same st, join and tie off.

For Eye: Make a st with black yarn.
