Bernat Sport Weight Yarn 3ply (I used variegated)
Hook Size G
Hair Elastic
Stitches: ch, sl st, sc.
Gauge
6 rows = 1"
5 sc = 1"

Instructions
Round 1
Ch 50, sc in the hump of the 2nd ch from the hook. Sc in the hump of each remaining ch. (49 sc)
Round 2
Being careful not to twist Round 1, sc in the 1st st made on Round 1. This will form a ring but leave a noticeable break at the bottom of it to help you know where the additional rounds begin/end. Sc in each st around.
Rounds 3-12
Sc in each sc.
Assembly
Holding the hair elastic inside the crocheted piece, fold Round 1 up through the center of the elastic to meet Round 12. Holding Round 1 and Round 12 together throughout, sl st all corresponding sts together.
Fasten Off.

For a more ruffled scrunchie, increase the length of your foundation chain.
