You'll Need:

400 g of Mondial Prima yarn (100% merino wool; 95m/50g);

Straight knitting needles 4 and 5

Double Rib Technique

Cast on half of the needed stitch quantity with a contrast color of yarn.

1st Row: Knit with working thread * 1 knit stitch, 1 yarn over*, repeat from * to *;

2nd Row: *Knit yarn over as knit stitch, slip 1 stitch as purl without knitting it, yarn is in front of work*, repeat from * to *;

3rd and Last Rows: *1 knit stitch, slip 1 stitch as purl, yarn is in front of work*, repeat from * to *;

Unstring the contrast thread in the ready detail.

Other Stitch Techniques

1 x 1 Rib

Rotate 1 knit stitch and 1 purl.

Stockinette Stitch

Right side rows - knit stitches, wrong side rows - purls.

Wrong Side: Right side rows - purls, wrong side rows - purls.

Stripes Rotation

* 4 rows wrong side, 4 rows right side*, repeat from * to *.

Stitches Control

Right side, knitting needles 5: 16 stitches and 21 rows = 10 x 10; 1 x 1 rib; 12 stitches of placket = 4.5 cm.

Back Section Instructions

Cast on 83 stitches on knitting needles 4 and make 4 rows with double rib and 24 rows with 1 x 1 rib. Change to knitting needles 5 and knit as follows, making decreases in the middle of the 1st row 1 x 1 stitch: 31 knit stitches right side, 20 stitches of stripe rotation starting with the 3rd row of the pattern, 31 knit stitches right side. Starting with the 3rd row, increase 2 x 1 stitches in each 2nd row from both sides, then for the sleeves cast on 7 x 2 and 1 x 3 stitches from both sides; first increased from each side 2 stitches - knit stitches, next 15 stitches, which were cast again, are knit with stripes rotation, the last 2 stitches - knit stitches. In 37 cm from the rib for shoulder cants, bind off 4 x 8 stitches from both sides in each 2nd row and then bind off the rest 56 stitches.

Left Front Instructions

Cast on 49 stitches on knitting needles 4 and make a rib, as for the back. Change to knitting needles 5 and knit the first 37 stitches with knit stitches right side, the last 12 stitches - 1 x 1 rib. Starting with the 3rd row, increase 2 x 1 stitches in each 2nd row from the right, then cast on 7 x 2 stitches and 1 x 3 stitches in each 2nd row from the right; first increased 2 stitches are knit stitches right side, next 15 stitches, which were cast again, are knit with stripes rotation, the last 2 stitches - knit stitches. In 37 cm from the rib (78 row) for shoulder cants bind off from right 4 x 8 stitches and at the same time start shoulder cant for the neck hole, bind off 3 x 12 stitches in each 2nd row from the left.

Right Front Instructions

In symmetry with the left front.

Collar Instructions

Cast on 97 stitches on knitting needles 5 and knit 4 rows of double rib, 44 rows with stripes rotation, and 4 rows with 1 x 1 rib, leaving the stitches open.

Assembly Instructions

Make shoulder seams, sleeve seams, and side seams. Place the placket of the right front upon the placket of the left front and sew the upper edges of both fronts. Sew open stitches of the collar to the neck hole with kitchener stitch, starting from the middle of the neck hole and back. Sew the sides of the collar: at 16 cm from the upper edge on the right side, then on the wrong side, fold back half of the collar to the right side.
